While he'd go if he was offered the job, he won't, simply because Everton won't offer him it. The fans down there detest even being linked with him ffs and after Kenwright coming out saying he'll listen to the fans it seems even more unlikely.

Shouldn't have said this in my opinion. Disappointing to read this.

Chances are he won't be approached by Everton, they won't be wanting to take such a big risk on a manager like him and would be more likely to go for a bit more tried and tested option. Lennon should have realised exactly this and kept his mouth shut - as now - while he remains at Celtic everyone is now aware how available he considers himself for a job in England. And from here onward, every job for a lower-half team in England will be linked with him as a favourite - and will really only depend on the first team such as Norwich/wigan etc to approach him and then he will be off quicker than you can say 10-in-a-row.

Furthermore, releasing statements like this only to then remain with Celtic, faced with the huge task of trying to keep certain players here away from England as long as possible? How is Lennon ever going to persuade Hooper or Wanyama to stay up here when they have just seen their boss do his subtle best to angle a move down south himself?

Judging by Lennons comments at the press conference he would take the job if it was offered. No surprise really.

From reading some of the Everton fans tweets it seems Neil is the last manager they want, yet they are wanting a manager that's fighting relegation for a second consecutive season.

I wouldn't blame him for going if he does.

However I don't think he will. Everton will either have Roberto Martinez or Malky Mackay as manager next season.

    Over and Over

They think he isn’t good enough for them. EPL fans are brainwashed into thinking a guy who battles relegation every season is someone above a manager who’s taken a 4th seed team out of a group including Barcelona and Europa League finalists.

It looks to me like he was asked two questions and gave two short answers, it's no big deal.

Everton fans hate Neil Lennon, but i have no doubt he would do a better job than Martinez.
But, i reckon Everton can easily pull a really good, highly experienced coach.

I thought Lennon was a bit of a hate figure in England in his playing days and that's why Everton fans didn't want him. Anyway I think Martinez is decent and he works within a budget, he isn't very good at signings though eg. Mcarthur

They dont hate him, theyre just reacting to what they think is a diddy manager from the Scottish League being linked with them.

We'd react the same if some diddy Championship or League 1 manager like Nigel Pearson or Simon Grayson were linked with our job.

They have an expectation of appointing an experience premiership manager with a big name probably someone like Martin Jol. They probably know very little about Lennon other than hes only managed in the SPL.

    Aye, I have to agree.

It was quite obvious he would take the job if it was offered.

Funny you should mention that i was going to back Malky despite him just going up with cardiff, he was 25/1 last night, now second favourite at 2/1 - must be alot of money put on him. Lennon currently 6/4.

Di matteo at 10/1 and Mark Hughes 40/1 would be my further afield guesses.

Think they are looking for something permanent, a manager for many years. Dont thik they will go for lenny cause he´s too unexperienced.

Apparently the job is Lenny`s if he wants it. David Moyes has told Kenwright his choice would be Lenny

    Apparently
