Excellent player. If folk believe McCourt is a star then Maloney is a *!

I think Wigan will do a Wigan and somehow manage to stay in the EPL again this season. Even if they didn't, he'd end up somewhere else in the top flight down there.

wigan give him a license to roam, he pops up everywhere, left, right centre, hes a real wee number 10 for them. We stuck him out on the wing. I think the freedom Wigan give him is the reason he's doing so well.

Because the Premiership isn't as good as SKY have you believe. See Charlie Adam, Steven Whittaker, Danny Fox, Jos Hooiveld, Marc Antoine Fortune, Ki Sung Yeung and Ricardo Vaz Te who have all arguably been more impressive in the Premiership than they were in the SPL.

It may not be as good as they say but it is a million miles better than the SPL.

He is having a purple patch at Wigan but ultimately he's a one trick pony, permanently injured and nowhere even close to being one of the best in the Prem. In fact the suggestion is ridiculous.

I didn't say it wasn't far superior to the SPL but there are bucket loads of mediocre players that shine in it.

It isn't easy up here. Plenty of players have performed better down there because they expect to stroll the SPL.

He's playing for Wigan, that's why. Every team who visit their stadium doesn't play defensive football and try to close down their skill players like they do at Celtic.

If he played for a top club in England he would find it more difficult.

Always a big fan of Maloney, dont know why we got rid of him in the first place, ok he was injury prone but he was still very much capable of playing well for Celtic. Done really well in the Premier League and yeah I'd take him back in a heartbeat.

Can imagine Maloney was on about 20k a week with us, so getting around £1 million for him when he was in and out the team was decent business I thought.

I agree with the guy who mentioned him in relation to the number 10 role, he does that role superbly for Wigan, would be brilliant to see him back up here playing that role.

Hes a better, more intelligent player now than he ever was with us tbh. If wigan go down he'll be snapped up by a prem club no doubt.

The wee man was fantastic for us when he frst come on the scene, he had rotten luck with injury's and now he is injury free and getting back to his best always liked him as a player!

But don't see him coming back to celtic! wish him all the best

He already looked almost the complete attacking MF back 6 or 7 years ago. His only fatal flaw is a horrific injury record. Whenever he is fit for a whole season he can show what a great player he is. I think if Wigan go down people might be surprised at some really decent sized EPL clubs being after him. Cant see him ever coming back to Celtic though and the hatchet men of the SPL. Would actually like to see him playing in Spain or the like.

I could never understand the dislike for Maloney when he was here. Fantastic wee player who is playing out his skin in the EPL. I'd imagine he'd get a decent move if Wigan go down.

Great player we should never let him go, I don't think he will be back how often does a player sign 3 times.

I think hes allergic to Glasgow, he was permanantly injured with us. Great player though, best playmaker to come out of Scotland since who?

This also the style of football Wigan play suits him perfect . If Wigan go down he would be fantastic at Swansea City .

I don't think there is much point getting him back up here, he is thriving down south and that style suits him. Never understood why he didn't play for us every week, first player I ever got on the back of my top. Loved the wee guy!

Could see him going to a team like Newcastle or Sunderland...or anyone since he's brilliant.
