I don't put x's on the end of any text or email..... Even to the wife. Load of *.... You don't sit having a chat in Costa and after every sentence you lean over the table and kiss her do ya?

To girls, absolutely. To boys, naw. I've a good few pals who do this and it does my nut in, the conversation is ruined from that moment onward and I don't even know what to say back.

Never had it done to me, or done it myself, except with a woman.

If ever a friend did this, he would instantly be made aware of how much a * he was being, and would be left in no uncertain terms of how i felt about it.

On a similar note......i had a long term friend try to man hug me the other night in the pub!Never felt so uncomfortable for a long time. The only time i think it is appropriate is if you havent seen someone you truly care about for a long time, or its a funeral or something.
I know its a young mans thing........but i hate it!

I don't really see the big deal to be honest....in formal correspondence then yeah I think it shouldn't be done but between friends no big deal....most guys who do so will probably be doing so out of habit from texting girlfriends wives etc.

As for a man hug....don't see the problem in that either....why it would make you uncomfortable....unless you have reason to suspect that he is coming on to you, I don't understand.

I think for me its a generational thing.I grew up with a handshake, and now people i have known all my life want to hug me.....when i only seen them last week!It isnt for me.....:smiley-laughing002:

I agree with the guys who say OK for wife Girlfriend of friend who happens to be a girl.
    Never a man.
What really * me off is people who use text language, as in, cu m8 b4 etc etc, on forums like this and in emails, i hear that even some school children are using it in examination answers. It is so difficult to read, shows a lack of education (maybe) and a certain attitude of mind which i do not like because it annoys me so much.
I don't mind LOL or PMSL at the end of a post I think this is slightly different.

Ah right....your initial post sounded like you'd pull them up in an angry way rather than joking way....fair enough:50:

I personally think that is the older generation that their isn't enough affection shown....too affectionate in the young generation though.

Me and my mates always do it, always have. Never really paid much attention to it to be honest.
