Hi all, wondering if anyone has any advice on potentially moving abroad to work / travel for a bit? (Sorry if wrong section!)

I'm just about finished uni and the wife is getting bored of her job (nurse) so were considering moving for a couple years for a bit of a change.

Have heard great things of Melbourne particularly and am starting to look for jobs there (architecture related) but was just wondering if anyone had done similar and would they recommend it?

Either that or any recommendations for somewhere that would be really interesting to live / work in for a bit!

I moved to Vancouver with my gf for a year after uni. Best decision I've ever made(apart from her). I'm back home now and happy to be here but don't regret anything about that year. Really opens your eyes. If you think you'll enjoy it then chances are you will

    Go for it!!!
I lived in Germany for a couple of years and Bolivia for a couple of years too - absolutely loved it both times, gives you an interesting perspective on your own country as well. If you don't do it you might wonder 'what if?', and it sounds like you've both got skills that you could transfer to working in another country no problem.
Visited Melbourne once for a couple of weeks and have to say I really liked it. Not sure if it was because the comedy festival was on but the whole town was buzzing.
    Best of luck!

Go for it mate, you are young folk and if you do not then you will always regret it. Both my children moved to Oz and love the lifestyle there. It is more expensive to live there but the wages are much higher. Bye the way beer is about $10 a pint, which I'd about £6-7 and house prices are also very high.
Unfortunately the sort of young folk who are leaving are just the sort of people Scotland need.
