Like every player he's enjoying a new lease of life under Rodgers, not only showing great energy going about his defensive work but seems to have rekindled the forward energy he clearly showed as a youngster. Carrying the ball into forward areas & making late runs into the box. It's a long time since I've seen such an offensive Brown. 2 attempts from him within the six yard box (almost) is almost unheard off during a 90mins. I know he has mainly played as more off a sitting midfielder throughout his time with us but I do genuinely think he is a more naturally offensive player & has altered/curbed his game to play CM for us.

I was one of his biggest critics in recents weeks. Last night he was excellent and hopefully he can continue with it into domestic football.

I was one of the ones that was saying he was done and by his best, but * me. One of the best games I've ever seen him play last night, up there with benfica. Drive, energy and skill, don't think he misplaced one pass. Real captain performance. And congrats to him on breaking Cesars record, his influence has possibly been underestimated by many(including myself)

Brilliant yesterday. Best I have seen of him since he came back from injury. We really need an in-form Broony in the CL-group stages. Good days

I really enjoyed watching him last night.

His positioning allowed him to break up attacks nicely, and he showed quick feet and neat passing to get us going.
His ability to press and nip in front of players to win the ball back helped us stay on top for the entire first half. He broke into the box a couple of times, too, and was unlucky not to score in that first half.

So glad he's getting close to full fitness.

Shocking ball retention, 1 misplaced pass out of 72 attempts.

That his passing has been poor over the course of his Celtic career?

For me, there isn't many starting centre mids over the past few years who have been worse.

Been a consistently poor passer IMO.

Best box to box performance in a Celtic jersey by any player for a long time. Brendo's taken the shackles off him and he's back to his marauding self.

Personally I thought he was finished. Wasn't playing that well under Deila imo and I thought his passing was horrible when he played under him. But I've already posted saying how wrong I was and I think Rodgers should also be given credit for that aswell.

I never doubted him. I kinda knew he would bounce back.
FFS the guy was playing through injury most of last season.

We have our captain back HH:celt_2:

I agree he's back. Should never had been playing through injury, don't think he was really used in the way he should had been aswell last season.

Same. He's not the best passer in the world but that's been blown way out of proportion by a lot of our support in my opinion.

Broony was great as a marauding forward thinking midfielder for Hibs. It was Strachan that decided to try and turn him into a defensive player. I know Broony's the wrong side of 30 now but I'd be interested to see how he'd do in one of the attacking midfield positions in our team with someone like Bitton sitting behind him spraying the ball about. He might not have the legs to play that role consistently now but I reckon he could definitely be used that way from time to time.

Plenty completely wrote him off. Shocking some of the comments in recent months.

I wrote him off too because plainly he was * and always is when hes not fit like most players. But unluckily for scott brown hes not like most players he a stubborn * who will always want to play even if he had a leg missing and will rarely be subbed because hes the captain. So when he makes mistakes when hes not fully fit and it costs the team people like myself get a wee bit * off and maybe say stupid * we dont think about properly! Glad to see the big man back to his fitter self and hopefully he bangs in more goals like last night smashing finish :56: second time round
