'what's with all this 'leave him alone' pish, and 'why is he getting a hard time?'
It's because he's a * bomb scare. Every touch he had tonight was woeful. And he has previous (Juve + Maribor) for single-handedly * things up in Europe.

Guy isn't good enough, it's that simple.

It's nothing major.. But what is going through his head to run away from the ball after he put it down for a free kick into added time? He never even looked at Gordon to let him know he wanted him to take it.

He just * off, we needed a goal and time was running out :56:

Didn't help that Gordon skewed it sideways and the ball creeped 20 yards and just over the halfway line, kicking was utterly abysmal all night..

That was truly astonishing. Gordon was so far up the park, and so wide, they could easily have scored on the counter. The man's a liability.

Don't mind him as backup. Never a right back though.

Anyone mind his debut at CP in the cup ? Holding midfield. Looked a world beater. Now he struggles to even pass the ball. He looks like it takes all his concentration and effort to make a 4 or 5 yard pass.

Aye, against Raith or Falkirk I think it was, looked very comfortable that night.

Tbf he started off well here, the Juventus game * him.

Well said that man . He wasn't on the pitch long but misplaced a couple of passes and lost possesion with a couple of dodgy touches . Guy is mince meat .

I like ambrose, there's better players in front of him , he's prone to his mistakes as we all now but the reaction to his mistakes are always blown way out of proportion, this is what makes people thinks he * not the actual mistakes which everyone in the defence bar denayer had tonight especially izzaguire.

Still though we should have taken that 3 million off olympiakos in 1 cent coins if we had to.

The thing is we cannot accomodate a guy who is so unreliable, one minute he'll emerge from defence strolling past 3 or 4 players, next he'll * up a basic 10 yard pass.

Nice guy and all that but i'd be happy if he plyed his trade elswhere.

I think the nature of Ambrose's mistakes don't help him. * about on the ball thinking he's Maradona. The cup game I was on about where he looked a class act he was winning the ball and laying it off to players more accomplished with the ball at their feet.

I know its most likely been referred to in every page of this thread but if he hadn't played against juve like he shouldn't have , I doubt he would come in for a fraction of the abuse he gets. Like when someone mentions ambrose two things comes to mind bomb scare and juve.

I'm going to credit Efe for playing an integral part in the success of the 2012/13 CL group stage campaign, including the victories against Barcelona and Spartak. Efe went on to become an African Cup of Nations Champion on the 10th of Feb 2013, winning in front of 85,000 in Johannesburg.

Having trained away with his country for around a month prior to the Juventus game, 12/02/13, then following around a 12 hour flight, It was a poor decision of Lennon/MjJallby to ask him to play in that game... Let's hope he can play with confidence in more domestic and European success when required.

I like Ambrose but don't see what he brings to the team.

He plays decently at times, controlling his man, but that's it.

There is hardly any initiative going forward or any breakthrough passes coming from him.

And when he also has the occasional glitch costing us chances and goals against us, I think he is costing us more than he contributes.

Unless Efe can be greatly improved in a matter of weeks and months, we are better off looking for someone else to take his place.

    Sad but true.

Hes * pure useless he got 5 touches when he came on and found 5 passes to inter players, he, s at fault for the majority of goals we concede when he does start a game, if you waych him on the ball he looks as comfortable as a fart in a spacesuit, he vibrates uncontrollably like a big flappy * when he has the ball, people can back him up all they want but the guy is rank rotten, and a hope to * we did not turn down 3 million for him!

Seen this as well. Reminded me of Spain, when Arbeloa was in acres of room, but seldom got the ball. He just isn't good enough, and at right back, it is a nightmare to watch. I just expect him to give it away whenever he touches it, and last night, he often did.
