He said-"That was awful today. I perceive them to be top-class players but maybe I’ve got it wrong. Maybe I need to look this week in the window and change things, I don’t know.”
Realistically do you imagine he is going to be looking to replace anyone before the window ends based on that performance,or is he just hurting after the game?
Surely there isn't even any cash lol?I mean major cash without getting rid of someone first?

No. I thought his response was spot on. He accepted responsibility but also voiced his disgust and disbelief at that abject display.

Hope they got a * rocket because that performance was, simply but, unacceptable.

That being said, I don't know how he arrived at the conclusion that Hooper was worthy of pass marks. Aside from the tap-in (which should really have sparked some life into us) he was as bad as I can remember him playing, his touch deserted him and he seemed absolutely devoid of composure. NL probably wary of criticising him given the premeirship vultures lurking overhead.

Seems kind of pointless, whilst he's right i can't see the players being that worried about people being brought in to replace them. Who are we gonna find in a couple of days good enough to do that.

It would be extremely naive to think we don't have several lengthy lists of players that have already been scouted.

Maybe we should arrange all our games so that an EPL manager can attend.
Seems to be the only time certain players perform lately :icon_mrgreen:

we lack a creative midfielder and the defence was funnier than mrs browns boys .if he says we dont need anyone in the transfer window he is blind. we are the most inconsistant top of the league team in world football at the moment end of

He is bang on the money with his criticism. Once again, the players have let him down badly at Hampden. We can all go over his tactics and team selection witha fine tooth comb, but the fact is, when they players cross that white line, its upto them. The team he choose yesterday should have more than enough to coast past St. Mirren, providing the attitude is right. Yes, we were a bit unlucky by hitting the crossbar twice, and if Mulgrew scores the pen, then we probably win comfy, but the performance was awful. Unfortunately, it's becoming a familiar display at Hampden, and that is worrying.

No saying much, a swift kick in the bollocks is funnier than that steaming pile of dung. :icon_mrgreen:

The issues is clearly motivation rather than a lack of talent in the team. That team was good enough to wipe the floor with St Mirren. They lost because St Mirren worked harder and they wanted it more. The same has been true regarding a lot of our domestic games this season.

Lennon may be right to criticise his players post match but it is also up to him to motivate the players beforehand. And if he feels players arent up for the battle he should drop them for players who are. We are rightfully out of the league cup, and even in the Scottish cup we rode our luck to get past Arbroath over two games. Far too many players not turning up for these kind of games, while giving it 110% on the big european nights.

that seems to be the major problem ,we have about 4 top class players two of which werent playing yesterday ,the rest are decent or worse and if lennon considers samaras and brown (his two favourite passengers!)top class he really needs his head looked at
we need a striker who can head the ball and get on the end of set pieces , someone with a bit of imagination in midfield and probably 2 wingers if forrest is gonna miss many more games ,we havent been scoring enough goals a blindman could see that

I notice Hooper was exempt from any criticism. 'Without him we would be in trouble' were Lennon's words I believe.
