Surely the hdmi poin that is connected to the motherboard should be able to just output to the tv ? Is it maybe something to do with im not using a proper pc monitor ?

When I made mine I plugged the hdmi from my pc to my tv and it didn't work , so I used a VGA cable and changed the setting in display and sound then switched it over an it worked.

I take it you changed the settings on the tv not the actual pc ? I ll buy a vga cable on the way home and see how it goes * choking to get home and fiddle about with it. If i cant get it sorted im taking it to a local shop admitting defeat. Just dying to play games * sake :56:

The best way to approach building a PC is to have two of everything. So try everything the same but change the monitor/tv. Then try everything the same but with a different cable. Etc etc.

Obviously it's not really practical to have two of everything but that sort of methodical approach is the best to troubleshoot.

Nah I used the VGA cable and it was the default so I worked then I changed the out put to hdmi In display and sounds settings. Switched over to to hdmi and it worked ;)

P.s for the sound I had to change it so the output was the tv

Done the build last night. Computer powers up fans etc start motherboard has power etc. connected to my samsung tv via hdmi cable from graphics card but there is no signal. Tried two different cables.

Next steps are try vga cable, make sure stand off are in correct positions no affecting circuit, finally take the board out and try it with only power and ram. All that fails cry for a bit then take it to the shop

    Any suggestions welcome

Have you got all the power connections in correctly?

I would check all the connections, check in case you have a standoff creating a short, try a different output cable.

But first I would try would be to disconnect the graphics card, and only using the motherboard output and seeing it that will work.
