My favourite story involving Sean Fallon goes back to the time when he was assistant manager. A close friend of my family who sadly passed away a few years ago lived in Ireland and was good friends with Sean. Sean obviously valued his opinion on the game as he would occasionally ask him to have a look at players over there. One day he asked Sean (also my family friends name) to have a look at a player and the report came back that he was a good player who lacked the pace to make it in the profesional game.

Well for a player who lacked pace Martin O'Neill did not bad for himself :)

    RIP Sean.

Sean's daughter came to the game today and sat beside me. She only came for the minutes applause because she thought she should be there as a fan with no fanfare. Her husband is my mate and we've had season tickets together since the North stand was built. I've got to say it was very emotional. She didn't ask me to say this but I'd like to thank every single one of you lads on here for your condolences and everyone at the game today for the minutes applause. He was indeed a great Celtic for a very long time and he will be remembered. Hail Hail.

I got into work early this morning, so I decided to read some of the newspapers kicking about...So I read the Daily Record and it has the article heading 'Sean but not forgotten'. I just thought that was so disrespectful.

Don't know if i'm nitpicking or perhaps because it was first thing in the morning but that left a bad taste in my mouth.

Why do you guys think? I think we actually banned this rag earlier in the season for slandering Celtic and Fallon.

One of them had "Fallon Idol". Thought that was really disgraceful. It's a pun, but the thing it's a pun on suggests he has done something to not be held in high regard. "Dean but not forgotten". Again it's really stupid. I don't think the content is disrespectful. But the use of a silly pun to headline Sean Fallon dying is disrespectful. It's just not necessary. The thing is aswell they chose to do this. Almost every other paper just had a normal headline, generally with the words legend, hero etc. These two must have heard the news, and the editor's gone, "right boys who can come up with the best pun on Sean Fallon dying".

    Tabloid hacks make me sick.

The fact that they used puns at all irritated me. 9/10 times a pun is comedic, often mocking someone. Any human being with common sense would put a headline such as R.I.P. or a quotation from Celtic etc.

Just watched his interview with Jim Craig: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhqfXnRxCuQ"]Celtic FC - This Man Craig Sean Fallon - YouTube[/ame] His story is fascinating; you'd almost think it was predetermined that he'd end up at Celtic. Really can't be overstated important he is in our history. Great tribute from the fans today and the team did him proud as well. RIP, Sean. :shamrock:

"As I walked off Hampden Park I felt I had got everything out of life I had ever wanted. I had become a member of the famous Celtic Football Club and holder of a Scottish Cup badge all in one year."

    Sean Fallon.

Great tribute to Sean Fallon yesterday, the applause, the display, the chanting his name followed by the early goal.

Did they applaud? Fair play I guess, would have been different if it was a minutes' silence though.

Those puns definitely come across as crass and insensitive, totally unnecessary on the occasion of someone's passing.

    R.I.P Sean. :shamrock:
