I think Baros from Liverpool would be a great buy, not even sure who else is available though, or of we could afford the fee

hi all, this is my first post. i feel that we need to revamp the squad. the average age of it is over 30, this concerns me a great deal. how about this for a summer squad revamp - OUT - hedman, douglas, balde, henchoz, lennon, thompson, fernandez, sylla, bellamy (i dont feel that he is worth £6 mill).
IN - naysmith, quashie (get him instead of letting him go to gers), lemmens, keane (robbie), wilhelmsson, paddy kenny, biscan, diamond.
That would freshen up the squad no end.
The main thing for next season - we must sign Petrov on a long term deal and i feel that he should be the next celtic captain. What do you all think?

 

BELLAMY NOT WORTH £6?!?! Yer having a laugh! Most of the things I agree with, though, but some are highly unlikely (namely Robbie Keane). Don't think we should go for Kenny and Biscan. I don't rate Quashie too highly and haven't seen anything about Lemmens...

 

Bellamy for £6 Mil. is a steal i rekon.

If the 15mill is actually 15mill then I would probably go for niemi, diamond, scott parker and bellers. bearing in mind we already pay bellers' wages and a good few players SHOULD be out the door as well as not having to pay Lambo his wages any more, we should be able to cover the above 4's demands

 

We won't see £15mil in transfers-try nearer £6mil after paying off the debt.

You have to ask yourself, is it worth spunking our entire budget on one forward when the squad is clearly lacking in several key areas?

The answer's simple - no. And Bellamy won't stay now anyway.

If Bells doesnt stay we shld go in for Robbie Keane or mabye Baros along with Riodran as a rotational player. Wilson would b a gr8 long-term replacment for Jackie and Kuffour would b amense in the SPL as Inter have withdrawn there intrest in him supposdily. Theres also talk of Wayne Bridge coming in on Loan as Del Horno is joing the durty Chelski.

With McGeady,Beattie,Marshall,Agathe and mabye Varga on the bench i see that as a gr8 future team if its possible.

Interesting stuff mate. I think some of the names you mentioned would come to Celtic but it's down to Strachan. He'll have names in mind, might even be talking to them now. I think we need a new player for each position. Love to see Bellamy stay but if not, I think we can get a quality name in to do a job in Scotland and Europe too.

We got a lot of youngsters coming through and time will tell whether they can make the grade in terms of being first team regulars. Bags of potential.

Hopefully Strach will get some players in early for the Champ League qualifiers. The £15million available is supposed to be genuine. But remember, we will probably only have about £10million of that to actually spend on purchasing players (£5mil for wages). Few bosmans though and we could be there.

wilhelmson will not be at Celtic, he is generating huge interest. I see pearson ideal for the left when he's fit again. Anyway i'd like to see thommo stayin, hes been loyal to us and we should be loyal to him he has scored so many important goals for us and i would be sad to see him go. Definitely need a keeper 3 defenders 2 midfielders and a striker--- possibly wat O'neill bought in the last 3 seasons.
