International Friendly: Celtic vs. Steaua Bucharest (15/1/13)

Discussion in 'Celtic Chat' started by McManus4, Jan 10, 2013.

  1. I think that's a pretty fair observation.

  2. 2-1 The Celts:celt_2:

  3. Agree with this, I don't understand why people are critiscizing McGeouch but Wanyama gets off scott free. I understand that Wanyama has been great for us in europe but he was the worst player on the pitch tonight by far imo and McGeouch had a nice assist and a couple bits of neat play. People bringing up McGeouch losing the ball should rewatch the game and see how many times Wanyama gave it away.

  4. Just about everyone looked a bit lacklustre, but Banger took his goal well I thought.

  5. All I gotta say is I did not miss those * vuvuzelas since the world cup.

    Those things can * off.

And of course theyre going to be a bit lacklustre! They're on holiday in Spain!

  6. Nice goal by Bangura:50:

  7. Wanyama in no way gave the ball away 20 times ,i watched the game and wot i saw was a player head and shoulders above the rest on the park ,but each to their own .

  8. I enoyed the match was far better than the usual kick about friendlys

I know it was only a friendly, but hopefully now that Bangura has got a goal in a televised game and not just a pishy wee bounce match at Lennoxtown, he might push on and become a good player.

  9. I can't believe Wanyama is getting a hard time off some people, he was head and shoulders above everybody on the park last night and absolutely strolled the game.

  10. Bang bang to shoot down Hearts:)

  11. Good point:50:

Agree with Wanyama strolling it last night aswell.

  12. This, he actually a few good passes to put players through and showed off a bit of skill that you don't often get to see from the big man.

  13. Decent run out last night, good to see Bang Bang grab a goal and stokes make an appearance.

    * was Zaluska doing for there goal though?

  14. i thought izzy was shocking i know it was only a "training came" as it kept getting mentioned but he still looked pretty bad

  15. Zaluska is past it.

Kamenar should have been given a wee run out, as he's not had a single chance since he signed back in the summer. Would have been good to see what he can do.

  16. we deff need another left back izzy is weak link in defence imo

  17. This is an urban legend based in the final game. What could Steaua do against Barcelona in Sevilla? They played defensively, but not EXTREMELY defensive. That was an exaggeration, and the typical Spanish excuse when they lose.
That team improved in the next years and gained brilliance becoming one of the best European teams in the late 80's. Champions in 1986, semifinalists in 1988 (beating Rangers on the road) and runners-up in 1989; and unbeaten in Romanian league from 1986 to 1989.

Yep, and still very remembered in Timisoara. Celtic is the most illustrious European victim of Poli Timisoara, along with Atletico Madrid.

  18. I don't think he gave it away 20 times either was more agreeing with the general point that I thought he was awful yesterday. but I really don't see how anyone could think he had a good game, didn't do much besides go into one reckless tackle and pass the ball out of bounds a couple of times but I guess I will just have to disagree with most on here.

  19. he is a good back up who has done well for us in competetive games, also he is only 30 so hardly past it.
