They were interested in both Kayal and Hooper.

Just because they haven't made a concrete offer for Kayal so far doesn't mean they won't in the remaining two weeks of the window.

I expect Hooper and Wanyama to go in the summer. Hoping Keyal can regain his form and stay. Still a very strong midfield. Hooper's actual scoring record is very similair to Scott McDonald, though I dare say he is a better player. English players come at a premium though.

It's all very obvious to follow what the press keep telling us, but you just never know.
Nobody knows how much we'd be willing to accept, nobody knows if he will definitely go.

If we keep playing the way we've been playing in the league, sure they'll go. But if we start being more focused on goals than possession they might just hang around.

We all knew about the interest from Norwich from the media, so i get bored of all this i told you so stuff.

For sure we need the money and 7-8 million is a fair whack of cash, but to say it'd be worth him going to Norwich as a stepping stone, a better stepping stone than Celtic is ridiculous.

You can talk about getting more attention in England, but playing and winning in the Champions League gets you world wide attention.

It might be that we look at the options we have up front and think, well we can re-invest up front and freshen things up. It gives other players a chance, and i reckon they are worthy of that chance.

But, i'm interested to see how the team develops now, with the new additions and the players back from injury and how this might help to setup more chances for Hooper.

Shocking wouldn't quite describe how i'd feel about Hooper going to Norwich and guess what, we told them to comeback with more money or to forget it.

This is what i find totally retarded, a player needs to go to Norwich to prove he's a guy that can score a lot of goals in the Premiership, when he's scored lots of goals everywhere he's been. On the verge of a call up to the England squad and probably more likely to get in there by putting on the performance of a lifetime against Juve. He has two games to do it against Juve and another three medals to go for.

Football's about memories and he could stay for another season after this one and leave all the better for it, and still get a move to a decent top six side. The reason he hasn't is for others to decide.

Like i said football's about memories, when you look back and reminisce about winning trophies and the euphoria, coming up against the best teams in Europe and proving people wrong when the odds are stacked against you. This is a huge thing for us, and if Hooper decides to not sign the contract it sums up what i kinda thought, that he thinks he's to good a player to be playing for Celtic in our league.

If that's the case, fair enough, we've got enough up front to do damage against most teams.

7-8 Million and I would sell him, just because we have a few promising strikers coming up anyway and its even more money that can be re-invested into the squad

Stokes is worse than Hooper, If we could get 10-12 Million for the both of them I would be happy to let them go this window

Sell him now with the (next) biggest game of the season in the CL? Aye we might get pumped but stranger things have happened and Hooper is our best striker by far. I think I would take the gamble and keep Hooper.

I think Hooper will be wise to stay at Celtic at least until the summer. Then if he wishes to move on I am sure Celtic will still gain a decent return on investment.

I would much rather face Juve with Hooper up front than without. While it is a big ask to beat Juve, if we do, the £5 million quoted from Norwich now should be far less than the income to be gained in the UCL 1/4 finals. Hooper would be mad to swap an almost guaranteed Juve start and SPL title for a relegation battle in England. He has no need to prove himself in England and if he performs in Europe that will be plenty evidence to show the top English clubs that he would be a sound investment. A trip to Norwich is a backwards career move.

Personally I think Norwich's bid is very disrespectful and a bid double that should be what is required to even tempt Celtic. Lennon has pointed out that Celtic do not need to sell, and Celtic should not consider selling until a top team comes calling with a grown up, realistic bid.

A step down in his career - that's all it would represent. Also Lenny saying 'he ain't going anywhere' might not be conducive to having a happy player - he must start against Juve and we can sell him in the Summer if the money's right. He's English and after winning the SPL, possibly a treble, and a good performance v Juve at least we'll get good cash for him then.

Good for you. We all we all knew that. But that's not what you said. You said they were close to signing him...which isn't the case.

We don't know what Hooper is thinking as he has kept this private between player and club which is professional and as Lennon pointed out yesterday, how we operate.

How do you know that he wants away? Same way you knew it was a done deal?

If Ki went for £6m with under 12 months on his contract, I think Hooper will go for more.

Btw its 'Kayal'. Not 'Keyal'. Ffs.

And to just because they've lodged a bid for Hooper doesn't mean they don't admire Kayal.

I think Kayal would be easier to replace than Hooper, personally.

It's easier to find a good midfielder than it is to find a great striker/goalscorer.

We have a MASSIVE second half to the season and we cannot afford to lose him.

If he wants to go, he will leave in the summer. A bidding war from a few clubs in the premiership will see us get 6-8million from him, which would seem about fair with only 12 months remaining on his contract.

I really hope he doesn't go though, he will be almost impossible to replace.

Think about it Hooper's getting a new agent. So his agent has a month to make some money from selling Hooper, so he's probably the guy that leaked the story. Maybe Hooper fell out with him, or maybe he feels he hasn't done enough work to find him a new club.

Hooper's an excellent striker, but that Juve defense can handle him quite easily. Me personally, i don't think Hooper is the key to beating Juve, but you never know and Hooper did it against the smaller teams in Europe, not against Benfica or Barcelona.

But you just never know, in football terms he's helped to get us this far, so he should hang around and see it through.
