Celtic should never go into SPL matches casually. For no reason.

Some if not most of the first team absolutely are going to have to play in order for us to get the result.

3-3 is a bit optimistic but to be honest with you Caz but anything is possible its a funny old game

You must be looking forward to it surely? Maybe with your hands over your eyes and 3 spare pairs of boxers but looking forward all the same :56:

You wouldn't be surprised to see Celtic score 3 goals in the Camp Nou a few days after being beat off St Mirren? Join the queue of none.

Yep, Celtic always beat the bigger and better teams and struggle against weaker and smaller ones. It's just the way it is. Hence why we got outplayed by Ross County and St Johnstone, but stuck 3 past Spartak Moscow in their own patch and could have had more.

We will probably lose in the Nou Camp but I am certain Celtic will at least score and I would not be as shocked as everyone else in the world to see us win or draw.

We've done it before, more than once as well so it isn't a fluke.

lol, it's no blind faith, it's a belief based on facts.

Celtic can, and have many times, convincingly beat the likes of Barca, Man U, Real ect yet somehow got beat of Armenian Womens Under 14s team.

Under Lennon we've improved against * teams, and I think will still be formiddable against big teams. I am positive we will get at least one point from 2 games vs Barca.

They are the big team who suit our style most. We will just sit back and soak up pressure then hit them on the break, their defence is a * shambles (injuries or not) and our pace on the counter if used correctly will hurt them.

Every time i've seen Barca lose points or even goals in the last few years it's been teams being optimistic and having a go, biding their time and being patient yes but then when the time is right bombing forward.

Even Torres managed to score against them ffs!

We're as well playing the long ball against Barca, bypassing their midfield while expoiting their lack of height at the back- and in particular Sammy vs Alves.

A lot of sense in there, especially regarding their defence. I watch Barca almost every week, and it's incredible how often teams (even those at the bottom of the league) find themselves in a 1 or 2 on 1 situation if Barca are caught sleeping, they commit that many men forward, and even more so at the moment with the state of their defence.

I'm positive we'll create at least a couple of really good chances in the game at the Nou Camp, however whether or not

    A. We actually take them and
    B. It actually has much of an impact on the game knowing Barca can basically score as many as they like if they put their mind to it, is another matter.

People shouldn't kid themselves on that we won't create anything against them, we will, I just don't think realistically with the quality they have that we have any chance of taking anything next week.

C'mon this is Celtic. Should we really go to Barcelona for the sun and to have a little workout in the great Camp Nou? No, we should go there to compete and I've no doubt Lennon will tell the boys the same. As Rory pointed out there is a fair chance for at least a draw, so why not put the best team we have out there and have a go at them. We can hurt them a little, be an uncomfortable opponent. Plus I reckon noone would want to see our youngsters being skinned to secure 3 points on saturday hey?

Heres another thing to consider: THE PRESSURE WILL BE OFF THE SQUAD IMMENSELY. I really don't think theyre going into this thinking anything other than we (the fans & the management staff) expect them to give Barca a game. Its quite amazing the way this squad can perform when the pressure is off. I think we can expect an entertaining game to say the very least

Make no mistake about it, we will compete.

Against Barcelona, however, competing will only get you so far. If they turn up and they want to put on a show and score a few goals they will. The only thing we can hope for is they have an off day and we have a few slices of luck. We will also need Forster to be collosal, which he is capable of.

    I agree with you Hammer.

I think it's also worth remembering that Celtic have caused an upset at the Nou Camp before (on more than one occasion in fact). Admittedly this is a much better Barcelona team (the best ever), but anything can happen on the night.

I think people have got the wrong end of the stick here... NOBODY is saying put a weakened team out against Barcelona. That would be suicide.

Put a weakened team out against Barca? :56::56::56:

Who the * would think of such a thing.

Listen, as Hammer says, if Barca want to dominate us, then that's is exactly what they will do - especially if we give them time on the ball and let them do their thing.

I honestly believe the only way we are going to get any joy from this game is just to attack, attack, ATTACK!

Pound them, hound them, go round them and anything else that sound like that!

Scare the * outta them - bully them, kick * outta their midfielders, check Messi straight away......let them know that they are coming to play a game in the pits of fiery * :47::47::47::47:

Just a few people who have answered like:

"so why not put the best team we have out there and have a go at them."

I wouldn't kick Messi, it doesn't work. Just fires him up. The best thing to do is to press Xavi as much as possible and that forces Messi to come deep to match up with Iniesta and Xavi.

Easier side than done and that's not accounting for there other players. Also be very wary of Alexis Sanchez in the box.

We are going to get pounded if we sit back and try and take it mate, without doubt.

We can either cross our fingers and hope for a jeusy goal from a set piece, own goal, lucky counter attack or something - or we can go all out in a game that we are TOTAL UNDERDOGS and put these * to the test of our good attacking team.

Are we going to be dicks? or *?

It needs to be a very fine balance. We need to sit back a bit but at the same time press them so they are playing infront of us, at the halfway line.

I just hope Fabregas pushes Iniesta out wide... I think Iniesta is far less effective there and Fabregas is much easier to mark if you stay vigilant. We need to press Xavi though; Xavi is the key to the full way they play. Stop him and you go a long way to stopping Barcelona. It is an almost impossible task though, extreme fitness is required here. We need to be constantly on top of them. If we give them 2 seconds on the ball we are goners, just force them to keep passing, passing, passing under pressure (which they are quite capable of) but it will lower the chances of that killer ball.

Fraser Forster is required to have an insanely good game as well. No pressure big man.
