Bayern admit to interest in Balde

Balde recently signed a contract until 2008
Bayern Munich could make a summer move to take Celtic defender Bobo Balde to Germany, according to their general manager Uli Hoeness.
Hoeness and Bayern coach Felix Magath were at Ibrox for the recent Old Firm derby to watch the 29-year-old.

"Balde hasn't dropped out of our reckoning. Anything but. We have good memories of him," said Hoeness.

"He is very strong in the air, and both Felix Magath and I were impressed with him. We plan to watch him again."

The Bayern management were thought to have been impressed by Craig Bellamy on their recent visit to Glasgow.

But a replacement for Croatian defender Robert Kovac is their priority.

"We are on the look-out for a good central defender," added Hoeness.

"We took a look at Benfica's Brazilian Luisão but he did not get the thumbs up from us.

"But our scouts are busy looking at players. When they tell us about someone they like, we jump on a plane to go and see them."

 

depends on the offer, anything over 4 million and i'd let him go.

 

If it's true and there that keen (desperate) plus the fact that's he's just signed a new contract that cost celtic a bundle any less than 4m would be an insult.

It's ok selling him but defenders seem to be scarce these days unless you have a quid knocking about which we don't.

4 million for Balde ? I don't think we could afford to knock it back, so if that's what they offered then sorry Bobo but cya big fella...

 

Agreed - he's good but £4mil is a lot of money. Although if Boumsong's worth 8...

Bring them in cheap and sell them for a profit after a couple of years , thats the way forward

 

lol,aye he did sign a new contract. was reading about bayern munich being interested in the paper the day,but nah i cant see him leaving,and aye i know he isnt brillant at times,but id rather he stayed.

 

But they get dedicated to Celtic, like all the other Celtic players, they love playing for the club!

 

Yep agree with freedom on this one, look a the money r**kers made with Boumsong and he wasn't even with them one season. Due to the lack of money available in the spl it seems that even the old firm are now going to have to start doing what other SPL teams have been doing, selling whatever decent players they have for the first half decent price that comes along.

 

Yeah, like Brian McLair, Mo Johstone, Pierre Van Hoojdonk, Paulo di Canio, Jorge Cadete, Mark Viduka, Liam Miller etcetera etcetera

 

I say get the big * to *.

He makes too many mistakes in too many crucuial games. We can do better and we could do with the money. Obviously we will need to have a replacement but if the moneys right I would not hesitate in selling him.

I agree Zander Diamond is a greay young player.

Bobo, dedicated?? My fat *. He threatened to leave if he didn't get a 4 year, high salary deal. Why as he is simply not that good?

he does make mistakes but no one said they would offer 4 million and i really cant see them offering that much but after him agreeing that deal with us then we really should be looking for 4 million i reckon he has done ok for us you have to remember we dont have money to be splashing around on defenders, we may even need a quality striker by the end of the season

 

Selling him is a great idea...only problem is we dont have anybody to cover..and you can be sure that if Bayern are looking at Bobo the there is noone else about...or else they would be going for them instead...so we will be *....again...

Gonna need a new striker...2 or 3 defenders (cos all the current ones are *)...and a new midfielder or two...

And before anyone bleets on about the younger players...gie it a rest....that never happens at CP...with the odd exception....young players are brought on and then sold...simple as that..
On that note..surprised Malony is still hanging around, and Beattie....they wont become major players for the hoops...

 

4M+ then all we need is another million or so then we get Bellamy
but then we lose Bobo,

 

we could get a whole new defence for 4 mill
