I think Marcus Fraser will be Celtic captain in a few years. Seems to have leadership and talent way way beyond his years, is a very commanding defender and despite only being 17 didn't look at all out of place in Europe which is saying something. Hopefully he stays injury free and keeps improving.

Two players who don't get talked about much, who I was very impressed with at youth level were Calum Mcregor and John Herron, I hope they get some chances in the 1st team although I know plenty people down the years have looked quality for the u19s but then flopped at senior level.

In a few years we could have half our first team from our own academy :50:
Mulgrew, Fraser, Forrest, McGeouch, Watt, Twardzik. And some of the other bhoys like Chalmers, Fisher and Keatings might make the step up as well. Exciting to think.

You are thinking in the attacking sense, Irvine's defensive position and his ability to keep the ball moving and giving the players a platform to attack is excellent. I have high hopes for him.

I would also say McGregor is better than McMullen.

No mate, there might be a wee run out for someone like Irvine but the best I can see it is Watt and McGeouch.

Hopefully Ibrahim gets a run out as well.

Some people still don't realise that James Forrest is still only a kid. Fans expect way too much off him.

That tells you how good he is though. When he was 19 for a long spell he was our best player and he's been a guaranteed starter for about 3 years, now that he's having a dip in form people are reacting just as they would for a senior player doing the same thing because he's become such a key player for us.

Keatings scored 2 in a minute at the weekend for Hamilton. Might be worth keeping an eye on how he does.

    Edit : Already been mentioned

Aye, exactly. From what I've seen of him (admittedly, little), he looked like a very assured player for his age, especially given the role he fills. I wouldn't overlook him.

Neil continuing to have him in and around the squad is a good sign, too.

And I should've mentioned Paul George before. Completely forgot about him because he's been injured for so long. I have high hopes for him, both for Celtic and Ireland.

Not sure, it's a newly issued squad number anyway. No-one currently has 37 as there number. So a youth player we haven't seen yet.

    I don't recognise him anyway.

Definitely, Jackson Irvine is 36 and that was the last squad number issued to a player so definitely a new youth player we have yet to see in the first team.

The guy in the link posted is Atajic.

Been scoring for fun for the under 20's (8 in 5 i think)

Didnt do much last year as he was playing in midfield to accommodation Watt, but now he is the main youth striker. Probably doesnt have what it takes to be a full time Celtic player though.

He's never even been tried out in the first team though mate. :97: Bit unfair on the young lad.

Thats just my opinion on him mate.
And their doesnt seem to be much noise about him from others either.

To put it into perspective he is older than Watt. And we have highly rated Denny Johnstone coming threw looking to be a Celtic striker also.

For me Atajic will be a good player and certinly make his living playing football. Just not for Celtic. He (much like James Keatings) is talented but just have enough to play for Celtic.

A mate of mine plays for Hibs at U15's and said one of the Celtic U15's went away with the Scotland U18's and he's only 14. Says he is absolutely unbelivable and that he is the quickest person he's ever seen at our age which is crazy considering we have the 3rd fastest person in the UK in our year.

He also says Celtic are a cut above anyone he has ever played against and are so hard to get the ball off and he's played teams like Liverpool, Man United, Chelsea etc.

    Future sounds bright.

6 of our kids played in the Victory Shield at one point for Scotland (beat Wales 2-0) and one of our forwards Ciaran Lafferty scored the second. :50:
