Thought the whole match was phenomenal. Really enjoyed watching it, didn't feel like ~5 hours at all.
Murray really has come on leaps and bounds this 2012. His first serve, his forehand, his controlled temper, everything just seems to have improved. There was a time last year when it seemed everytime he faced one of the big 3, the gulf in class showed and Murray was just blown away time and time again. Yesterday's match, as well as Wimbledon and the Olympics, showed just how much he's improved that he can now more than match the big 3, well played Andy and well played Ivan Lendl.

Grand-Slam champion! :icon_mrgreen: First of many hopefully

His speech at the end was gracious, however calling for the trainer just before your opponent is about to serve for the championship is poor sportsmanship imo. I actually don't mind djokovic, barring that incident I gained a lot of respect for him last night. It was an amazing game of tennis between two amazing competitors, some of the rallies they were pulling off we're phenomenal

I didn't think at the time the trainer thing was very nice but the more I thought about it he did the right thing. He was about to receive serve needing to break to stay in the match, if that massage could loosen up his legs and allow him to achieve that he's got to take the chance. Murray didn't seem to mind to be fair.

Djokovic was never going to mind if he lost to Murray as they're close friends and he knows what Andy's went through to get there.

Yeah, two best players to watch on the tour by a distance.

He could barely move in the game before he called the trainer on though.

The trainer being called on was a bit annoying because i was a bundle of nerves waiting for Andy to wrap up the match, but afterwards you could see both players if the game had gone on any longer would have had more timeout sessions, so i am not really going to hold that against Djoko.

Both players along with Nadal are usually always quite respectful of any opponent they play.

Some of us can see straight through hollow words. I am one of them.

His actions prove beyond doubt how much of a shocking loser he is. Calling the trainer whilst Murray is on his feet ready to serve for what he has worked for his entire life is a despicable act from a despicable man.

Definately my 2 favourite players to watch. I've got a feeling this game is going to be the start of the Murray djokovic rivalry, taking over the great rivalry rafa and federer had. Shouldn't be too long untill they are 1 and 2 in the world. Can't wait to see how it unfolds

I was planning to watch it but ended up falling asleep when it was 2-0 to Murray and 2-1 I think to Djokovic in the 3rd set.

When I woke up I thought he had been beat too as I had a text at half 12 saying "what a collapse" then checked bbm and seen a few yass murray etc things

Good to see him finally winning!

The highlights are on at 8pm on Sky Sports 1/2 or 3.

You can't count out rafa when he gets past his injury he will be back in and amongst the slams again.

    I would say it's
    1.Wimbledon
    2.French Open
    3. US Open
    4.Australian Open

Simply because the French open is probably the hardest to win. Some of the greatest ever players have never won it.

I can see the logic behind that but I think it ranks as number 3 purely because it's such a specialist surface. As you say some of the greatest ever haven't come close to winning on the clay.

I think it's more you just disliking him. Djokovic is one of the most genuine people on the tour. ALWAYS gracious in defeat, unlike Federer, bitter little selfish child that he is. Even the Spanish mule is more gracious in defeat to that self righteous * hole.

I don't how much truth there is in this but today I was talking to my Serbian flat mate about Djokovic and he was saying that Djokovic and his family were getting tennis training facilitys in Belgrade as gifts from rich, murky Serbs looking for some nice words from Serbia's most loved son. They have rent payed for them, no land fees, upgrade facilitys etc and the Djokovic family charges upwards of 1000 euros for scholarships a month.

I don't know who true this is but if it is, it seems a real dickish thing to do in a country were people make on average 350 euros a month. On the court, on camera he seems a nice, gracious guy but I have my doubts about him after hearing this story.

Ask you flat mate what his source is for the knowledge, then you'll have a better idea of how true it is.

Not really mate when you look at the sources. Djokovic will always give a good handshake at the end of a match he loses, regardless of opponent. Federer can't even look the player in the eye!

Federer aswell when he got put out of Wimbledon off Berdych a couple of years ago...

"So who do you think will win then Roger?" - Reporter
"Who cares? You know?" - Roger

Bit of a prickish thing to say tbh. Would never hear a statement like that from Murray or Djokovic.

Also when Murray used to beat Federer in the smaller tournaments, Federer once said after his 2nd consecutive defeat to Murray ( I think) that he didn't think Murray's game was good enough to go far. - "Murray is going to have to grind it very hard in the next few years if he is going to play this way"

The guy can't take losing. He's not gracious in defeat at all. We seen the real Roger Federer in 2008 when he was losing the plot because cracks started to appear in his game. Bitter statements in the press from him near enough every time he lost.
