    Quite surprised by this move.
Can't see the rest of his Dortmund days being very nice :icon_mrgreen:

    Let the people sing,
What is the official situation with Felipe Santana, struggling to find any sources on the move to Schalke that was rumoured?

It wasn't that long ago that Hoeness was complaining about a lack of competition...

There is no friendship. They're our rivals and it's not that long since there was a row over comments made about Bayern's spending. Any respect for Bayern has been lost.

Schalke denied it, but there are still rumours floating about that it will happen. As I said, he wouldn't be a huge loss but we're a little thin at the back so we'd need to add if he did leave.

How much has this Dortmund team cost to put together ?

That thread was more about teams like Man City, Chelsea etc going out and spending hundreds of millions of unearned revenue in transfer windows was it not ?

Bayern don't fall in that category.

    What thread?

I wasn't talking about a row on this forum :smiley-laughing002:

I was referring to comments made by Klopp and a back and forth between the Bayern and Dortmund boards.

As for spending, Dortmund's biggest signing was Reus at 16 million euros. Noone else even comes close. He was worth every penny btw.

    * timing from bayern, clearly just trying to unsettle Dortmund before their semi final. Hope barca put bayern out now and then Dortmund go on to win it.

Gotze will have a pretty rough time of it for the rest of his Dortmund days now, that's if he plays.

Bayern are going to be an unstoppable force next season though, what a * team they will have.

What's this argument about the spending ?

This isn't exactly ground-breaking, Bayern aren't averse to pinching the best players from rival clubs. Neur, Dante, Van Buyten, Mandzukic, Pizarro, Gustavo, Gomez, etc.

True Fawlty. Still somewhat surprising though.

Klopp: "The reason Götze is leaving is that he's the a favourite of Guardiola. I can't shorten myself by 15 cm and start to speak Spanish."

Surprising that Gotze has seemingly pushed through a move to Dortmund's strongest rival, certainly.

I'll be fascinated to see the reaction of the Dortmund fans on Wednesday night.

Same here, they're always heard so I'll be listening intently to see if they get behind them/him for the occasion or let him know they're not happy.

Yes, I'm not saying it isn't a massive coup, of course it is, just that it is fairly typical for Bayern to look to get the best players from within the Bundesliga.

I suspect the latter is the more likely scenario. :86:

I thought Lewandoski would have been the one to join Bayern.... but perhaps he was too similar to Mandzukic and Gomez...
I don't like the fact that this announcement came just few hours before these crucial semifinals..... where of course I 'd like both German teams to do well.
One thing should anyway be considered..... We sold Gomez to Bayern for 33 Mln but doing so we were already showing that our Transfer Policy was just to sell the best ones with no real project to provide some future positive development. While Dortmund can stay competitive even after this, and as their Manager pointed out the fans shouldn't be too angry cos Dortmund themselves have bought last year a true talent and in Mönchengladbach they were also not too happy about it.....

There was nothing Dortmund could do about it. Götze had a clause in his contract, that if a club would pay that money he could get out of his contract. Bayern did not even had to speak to Dortmund about this transfer.

I think tomorrow the fans might still cheer the whole team on, as it is too big a game. But Götze will surley have to suffer at their next Bundesliga home game as Dortmund is already qualified for next years Champions League.

It's not the fact they've taken a key player from a rival club which I think is *, it's the timing of the announcement, on the eve of a champions league semi final they announce that they have signed one of that clubs best and most important players. Can't wait to see the type of reaction he'll receive from the Dortmund fans.
