The fact Everton have now signed him would suggest he was being realistic.

  4. Ha .. guess so. :icon_mrgreen:

We'll see .. I predict he will play less than 20 games.

Even without his injuries, Everton have Jelavic and Mirallas.

There's no doubt Owen will struggle for games.

  6. Good 3rd choice striker for a club like everton i think, he might have lost his pace but hes never lost the ability to exploit space or finish of chances.

  7. He has not signed for any one yet . Still 100% to Stoke City for me stuck 25 quid on 5/2 returns 87.50

He's English, I'm not sure where you obtained your information from but it is incorrect.

That's what I get for only reading a thread title on another forum.

'Michael Owen Signs For Everton' :56:

As long as he can stay fit, he's a good player to bring off the bench or to have as another option. I don't think he's good enough to be starting for a Premier League team, even Stoke. Although he'll definitely get his wish of staying in the EPL.

Owen is 100% English and he was linked with us not long ago as well. He was prone to injuries and no official links were made that I know of. Few Everton fans I do know though say his Da's family are all Celtic fans so maybe that was where the links came from.

How well he does now remains to be seen. Though it certainly will never be with us thankfully. Fantastic in his day though no taking that away from him.

Owen play football in Wales as a boy and Ian Rush wanted him to play for Wales as he qualified to play for them and others thought he would also play for them.

Yeah but he's English so if he had played for Wales your criticism of him would have stood. Ironically :56:

  16. Isn't he from a town on the border of Engerland and Wales, Frodsham/Mold something like that? I've started calling him Michael 'Geeza job' Owen after seeing him on Goals on Sunday flogging himself like a cheap Ho

Brought up in Wales where he played football, so he could have played for them.

  18. He was born in Chester, but grew up and went to school in Hawarden Flintshire. He supported Everton, Chester City and Celtic growing up.

  19. Owen peaked between 99-01 and is more injury prone than a matchstick. He was phenomenal in his late teens early twenties because of his pace and movement. Once that deserted him, he wasn't even deservid of playing for a mid-table team like Spurs or Villa. Never mind being a first team pick for Man U or Arsenal. Quite clearly he was an overated player and didn't show the great career consistency of a Larsson or Bergkamp. His modern day equivalent, Messi is a much more skillful player and strongly believe he could be playing in the Barca first team for the next 5-7 years.
