I'm heading over for the home leg on the 29th. Whats the best hotel? Looking something cheap and cheerful just to put the head down, won't be spending much time in it anyway.

Also whats the best way with travel from the airport? Whats the taxi prices or is there buses or whatever.

    Any other info appreciated

    Cheers in advance :shamrock:

The Travelodge hotels in Glasgow are cheap and cheerful enough? The shuttle bus runs every ten minutes between the airport and the city centre.

Was thinking the Travelodge. Take it the one in Hill Street is the better one to go for?

You can also check for prices on booking.com or see if Premier Inn has any rooms at a cheap price.

Alexander Thomson on Argyle Street is good.

Cheap enough priced too plus you get a huge breakfast included.

    Also wifi in the rooms.

Premier Inn on Ballater St is my choice if its got cheapish rooms availabe

Laterooms is always the best reference point, you will get something good on there.

Only thijg Id add is avoid those cheap crummy b and bs on Renfrew St unless youve been in the Bar L the past 10 year

Are you travelling alone? If you're coming over with a mate then get a twin room at the Premier Inn on Argyle St. The room will only cost you £30 per head per night, it's nice and clean and it's close to everything.

If you're travelling alone then there's a few B&B's on Renfrew St.(just off Sauchihall St.) where you'll get a room for around £30 a night and they are nice enough for a football/* up weekend. I usually stay at the Victorian House, the breakfast you get in there is really good.

I once stayed in a B&B in that area (cannot remember the name) and it was a real nightmare. Never again.

Sorry but must respond to this.

    1. Premier Inn is only 29 quid if you book a fair bit in advance but for 2 people even at double the price its worth it on many levels.

    2. NO dont stay anywhere on Renfrew St, they are pig awful, Ive been in almost them all, Mcclays and Hampton Court being particularly bad unless you like loud tvs at 3am, loud street noise, worst breakfast in Glasgow, almost everytime Ive been to these you see foreigners down at breakfast thinking "never again why didnt we just pay a bit extra"

Any of the central Premier Inns are just fine to be honest, I only usually do the Ballater Street one as I have got to know the desk staff and its an easy walk to Paradise from there with a nice walk through Glasgow Green thrown in for good measure

Booked the easy hotel on Hill Street. Works out 18 quid each between 2 for a twin room so not too bad I think. That's a room with a window, was £32 for the rooms without windows.

I believe the bus I've taken from the airport to the city centre was the Glasgow Shuttle. Single ticket costs a fiver. http://www.firstgroup.com/ukbus/glasgow/journey_planning/glasgow_shuttle/
