sorry if theres already a thread, but...

MARK HILL has revealed how he left Sir Alex Ferguson and his mum gutted after snubbing Manchester United for Celtic.

The Hamilton kid, who turned 14 just over a week ago, agreed to join the Hoops despite a 90-minute face-to-face chat with guvnor Fergie.
The Red Devils boss wanted the 5ft 9in midfielder after he became the youngest player to make a senior appearance in Scotland in April.
Hill, given a tour of Carrington by ex-Scotland star Brian McClair, admits it was tough turning down the Premier League giants, especially as mum Liz is a lifelong fan.
But he said: “I’m happy to get it all sorted. It’s been a busy summer. I went down to Carrington which was brilliant. I met Alex Ferguson at a hotel which was fantastic, although my mum was more excited than me!
“She’s always been a United fan. When he came in she was like ‘It’s a pleasure to meet you Sir Alex’. I was just sitting there.
“After meeting him and seeing Carrington, it was very hard to say no. We got advice on our options from the agents at Viola FC, but my family left the final decision to me.
“I felt Celtic was the better move at this time of my life.”
Hill, whose dad Adrian was a youth at Rangers, has just returned from South Korea after helping a Lanarkshire select side win gold at the International Children’s Games.
Now he can’t wait to join up with his new team-mates at Lennoxtown.
He added: “I liked what Celtic had to offer and so did my family.
“I can’t quite believe how quickly it’s happened. I’m pinching myself.”
Hill found it tough to leave Accies after breaking James McCarthy’s record as the youngest player in Scotland when he came on as a sub in a reserve game with Ayr in April.
And he added: “Hamilton have just been amazing for me.
“I wasn’t going to leave them, but decided I had been there for a while and I was ready for a change. Celtic was the best option for me just now.”

In all honesty it's still going to be a hit or miss with the lad, Mark Fotheringham was once the most wanted young footballer in Britain when we signed him and look at the level he ended up at. Tomislav Pavlov was wanted all over Europe, we got him but nothing came of him. The media need to stop reporting this sort of stuff and just let the lads get on with playing football and trying to progress without the pressure of being known as footballs next big thing.

Not going to have high hopes for this kid, Sounds pretty smart for a young guy though because it was definitely a better move coming to us rather than United at this stage of his career

He's 14? Looks a couple of years older than me but it's the other way about. Lucky Bhoy could only dream of being in his position, hope he does well.

Good luck to the wee man. Sounds incredibly composed for his age in the interview.

I just turned 14 the other day and he sounds far more mature and composed than me in that interview.

He's probably better at football too :56:

It's always nice to see any youngster turn the likes of United down to come here.

The fact is though, the chances of him making a break through here in the coming years compared to United is much higher. He could have made a very wise career move.

The kid must have potential if Fergie took an hour and a half out of his day to persuade him to join utd.

defo, let's hope he fulfills it.

He's certainly made the right choice, going to one of the best youth academies in Britain with excellent coaches who are now training people the right way and making sure that in 10 years time we will actually have players who know how to pass and trap the ball!
