I'd be stunned if we spent anywhere near £4m on our defence

true, but I'd rather have Champions League money in the bag before spending. Plus, Ki is a commodity as well as a football player, to let him go for a good, but not great offer, wouldn't be the best idea.

Irish pubs aren't all about Celtic. In fact you will see very little or no reference to Celtic in some in European cities.

Scottish fans watch English games. I don't feel any animosity....I watch it for good football as do most folk I know.

You would rather not gamble, with the chance of us falling flat on our faces at the qualifiers due to our defence once again (Kelvin Wilson's name is enough to scare the * out of me personally), instead of spending now and replacing it with either Champions League money or replacing the money by selling one of our players further down the line.

I think it's quite daft tbh.

I do hope we qualify and my worries are all for nothing, then we go out and spend on the right player - that would be great but I'm just concerned going into the qualifiers with the current squad.

We obviously know different people. I've had many a good chat in recent months about fan power and how to use it affect the Sky deal. I watch English games as well, I'm just not prepared to support the English Sky riches if our league suffers because of it.

The Irish pubs in Seoul sprung up off the back of Ki signing was my point.

Most European cities I've been to (including four solid years touring Europe) know Celtic. Very prevalent in Germany, Portugal (for obvious reasons) and certainly Eastern Europe as well.

I'd rather gamble on us being good enough. Which we are.

I wouldn't either. It's not good business despite what you might think.

Hence why the businessmen who run the club and know the exact financial detail have also decided

Let´s just hope for a lucky draw and take the chance. I am quite happy with the conservative approach and to be fair our chances of signing a quality striker/defender will rise once we have qualified. At the moment with all the uncertainty we would could probably get a somewhat first 11 striker which we really don't need. Defender I agree thats IMO the major weakness there we could probably use someone but with the financial uncertainty I am OK with not signing one yet.

We'll be struggling big time without the addition of a CB.

Totally agree with the clubs thinking here.alot of money is going to leave the spl over the next few years if fans don't get behind their clubs.the last thing we need is being stuck with a couple of players brought to help us qualify for the CL,if we fail.this group of players need to stand up and be counted.

I would also rather we waited as It could get us a better quality player cos the board won't splash the cash they yet have meaning we would end up with players like Murphy before the group stages or maybe Rhodes if we qualify

Also the board never backed any other manager before the qualifiers so they defo ain't going to back Lennon

Pretty happy with this, we have a settled team of international players. Should be enough to beat Helsinki.

If we did sign a centre back before the second round of qualifiers, I wouldn't fancy throwing him in to a new team for those games. I'm pretty happy for us to down-size but keep the core of quality, this would give our quality youth the opportunity to progress, rather than having second rate international players as back-up.

We have a very strong first 15 or so. Enough that if we steer clear of injuries we should get through to the Champions League.

It is a gamble but if it pays off we will be rewarded with a far higher class of player than we could currently get.

Nice to see my £600 season ticket money and the 15 players or so we've punted is going to good use. * disgrace.

    Exactly.

This tells me that we are not just thinking of chucking money at someone to help us get in to group stages, but saving our pennies to buy one or two that will help us actually do something of note if/when we get through.

We have a squad of internationals with title-winning and European experience.

Surely this group of players should be enough to see us through.

if you're only buying a season ticket to see it spent (unwisely) on players we don't technically need at this point you might be better off saving your money
