I doubt the holes in the O-zone layer above places like Mexico City are caused by people smoking. Vast amounts of traffic seems a much more likely contributor to me.

But how much credibility do these articles have? I don't know. They may be right, they may have an agenda......

Well answer me this, and my apologies if this offends anyone, but If I were in my car smoking with all the windows closed......would I die? No.

If I were in my car with all the windows closed and a tube from the exhaust into a small slit at the top of the drivers window, I would die? Yes?

That tells me fumes are FAR more dangerous than a cigarette.

Smokers have to go outside the pub already, and now people are complaining about that too?

I'm not a smoker, and I'm glad you can't smoke inside anymore (I think even most smokers are to be honest) but to then say they can't do it in the beer garden is getting ridiculous, what next, the bus stop? At a traffic crossing?

I'm happy with the way things are, if they are going to bring in any more legislation on the matter I'd rather just see them banned altogether, but we know that isn't going to happen.

If you are that worried about your kids then maybe the pub isn't the best place to take them in the first place...

Smokers have been an easy target for a while now, people now talking about no smoking in cars and public places this is taking the * imo. More beer gardens have been springing up all over the place to try bring the punter back start bringing ut laws for this too punters will stay away more than what they are already.
If pubs wanted to encourage families and childrens play areas keep them away from normal pub garden areas I dont goto the pub for kids to be running around I goto the pub to have a laugh with my mates - talk like mates I dont want to be conscious of what I am saying or doing because there are a bunch of kids running around mental.
I go over to Dublin atleast 2 weekends a month with the mrs. The smoking areas are fanastic our pubs should have agood look at how they do it.
If a pub is big enough and has plenty of space then have a seperate kids outside area. If the pub doesnt want to then its up to them.

All I'll say is, it isn't very pleasant breathing in smoke from someone's cigarette. Although I totally agree that smoking in a public place should not be banned, I think that it should be looked at as being socially unacceptable to smoke around people without making the effort to step a few yards away from them to keep the smoke away from them.

Its amazing how many smokers try and deflect the issue by saying " Cars pollute more" then when given the evidence to the contrary its how much credibility the report has ....We could argue all day about the subject ..my final take on this is . Everyone has a right in this world to breathe in clean air whilst going about their daily routine ...Smokers also have the right to Smoke which i accept , Is it really so much hardship to move a few yards away to spark up ? i think that is acceptable ....Everyones happy then :50:

If I wander into a beer garden full of deadco fans in my Celtic top I think to myself will I ask them to leave or will I find somewhere else for my quiet pint.

If I wander into a beer garden and there are glasses and fists flying around I think to myself will I ask them to leave or will I find somewhere else for my quiet pint.

If I wander into a beer garden and someone is sitting in a corner having a quiet pint and a puff of a cigarette I think to myself he's an abomination I'll go tell him to get his * out of here.

Just gotta love the way some people try to justify this idea.
