Just thinking about this, It might be pretty difficult to just give the club money.

The funs hund was, I think, to give money to creditors to try and pay them off into accepting the CVA. But we would be giving money straight to the club, and I imagine FIFA have rules about accepting donations.

With the new financial fair play coming into force I don't think anyone is allowed to just gift money to a club, as they're trying to stop sugar daddys like Abramovic just buying trophies, so I don't think we could actually just set up a simple account for people to donate to.

I am happy to donate to my club's causes.

However I don't believe we'll be in a financial crisis. Lawwell isn't as stupid as you'd think.

I would be up for this buti would want to know that the money would go towards transfer to improve team or into youth. For instance say 20,000 fans payed £10 a month there's 2.4 million in a year. I think that if the idea was successful and there was dialogue between club and fans with where the money goes then we could have a lot more that 20000 paying money onto a fund

I think full houses every home game would help out enough. I have said it previously I would have been happy to pay more for my season ticket as long as they took the principled stance over Rangers in the SPL.

    I voted no

I completely appreciate the sentiment and the fact so many people voted yes is yet another sign of the level of support our club enjoys.

But I do think over the years celtic fans have put in more than enough above and beyond the usual ticket/merchandise sales. My family bought a lot of shares 1st time round, I bought as much as I could 2nd time round. And I will continue to buy tickets and merchandise. But I think in these times people should be encouraged to look after themselves and their families, or charities that really need funding. We have mega millionaires amongst our ranks who are more than capable of covering short falls if need be. But as long as we keeping buying tickets and the team can do the business on the pitch, I see no reason why the club needs any more help from the fans.

BUMP - as mentioned earlier, I contacted the Club concerning my initial thoughts. I today received a response from the Commercial Director, who requested the response remain private - as such, I shall fully respect his wishes.

Nonetheless, as things stand, there are many difficulties linked which such a plan that render it impossible. There is an additional revenue stream being investigated for fans worldwide. Information for this may follow in time if it is a route to be pursued.

The response in question was detailed, and well-constructed - it was in keeping with the professional nature of the Club. I was very impressed, and further pleased to know that the Club seems to be in excellent hands.

However, initial concept dead in the water for the difficulties mentioned above, so this can be put to bed.

Best way of making money is to qualify for the CL group stages which we would if we brought in the correct players.

I voted Yes but only if the club was in financial trouble. The best way of supporting the club is going to games and buying merchandise. If the club isn't in bother what's the point?

I would prefer to increase my support in the club by attending more games or in the superstore. By donating money in the way of direct debit is like giving money to a charity which celtic is obviously not. In saying that, celtic already receive a lot of my depleted income, asking fans to give more is a big ask in the current socio-econimic climate.

We've had similar suggestions on here in the past - but in terms of specifically raising funds for transfer fees & wages.

Not sure if it would work and whether the plc rules would permit it...?

But then I'm * knackered and too tired to think properly.

As for investing in the club - if we attend as many homes games as we can - try and fill the stadium for each home match - PLUS and a big plus - ALWAYS buy your merchandise directly from the club - whether through the official Celtic stores at CP, Argyle Street, East Kilbride, or Glasgow Airport - can't recall what others there are... or from the online store!

Yes, you may get a top from ANother store for a fiver cheaper - but that's a fiver that will help our beloved club!

And what can you really get for a fiver these days?

hey guys not a bad idea but we are a charitable club. We have probably given more out in charity than the manky mob have paid in taxes.but we just need to eat more pies in the stadium if you ever get served. Buy more programs more Celtic views shirts and anything from the store and your adding to the funds of the club and getting something back. And supporting charities hail hail.Im with you TheZacDaddy ------------------------------------------------------where does that name come from ?
