Sky should stand by the deal they made, they could put a wee pack together for highlights of the 3rd division late at night especially for the new hun football club (new club, not new co) they died, they lost their history:56:

We can't just think Of ourselves. If competition dies completely our standard will too. That's the reality. So, everyone must benefit from tv

I'm sure ESPN have already said that their TV deal isn't dependant on Rangers being there.

Sadly money rules football now and there will be a slip in revenue regardless of where NewcoRangers are (since NCTRFC fans will cancel to avoid seeing their team getting skelped or whatever very week) but everyone will recover. All teams will just have to adjust their books to accommodate a revenue stream that will either stop or be reduced. Business smarts all round (well, for some teams that'll be a new one)

I can't wait to see the day we tell Sky to * off and stop dictating when/where KO happens. I mean come on, they can virtually override the Police and authorities to suit themselves!

    Tv will always rule football.

Perhaps we will resign from Scotland if sporting integrity is not upheld...

It wouldn't die completely. As I said in my last post: community-centred, financially responsible clubs would survive; TV money grabbers wouldn't, and better run non-league clubs would take their places.

Need to survive or need to be strong are two different things. I think most companies in the world would struggle with 30% income reduction people can't just say that the clubs will survive anyways which they probably will but.. we need a financially strong SPL if we are to compete in Europe etc. As much as we all want sport integrity to prevail the SPL brand worldwide is known for the "old firm" rivalry and that is what attracts players and neutral viewers all over the world. This decision is a Loose Loose situation for all of the chairmen of the SPL clubs.

Also remember we would have been saying the same things as the huns if we were put into liquidation.

I'm sure the money paid to spl is 30% ESPN and ofcourse 70% sky, could we not just restructure the deal so that 40% of sky's money is cut? It wouldn't be that bad considering there is no rangers to recieve tv money

Seeing on Facebook that Sky have no intention off stopping coverage of the SPL even if the newco get out down to the 3rd division. Will obviously mean a revised deal but it's still going to be there at least.

I think most supporters of Scottish football will do this, nobody wants them in the SPL. If they do get into SPL I will defo be cancelling my Sky !!

It's not as simple as that. The value they place on being able to show the SPL is entirely dependent on how many viewers they get. They think they'll get far fewer without the Old Firm games, so their valuation of the SPL is lower, so they'll offer us what they think it's worth to them.

Im sick of sly sports, 3.09 billion down south and piratically nothing up here, fair enough its not the best but how can they justify the massive bill for the epl? There has been talk on the radio the last few days the sly sports subscription costs will most likley go up in the next few months. If so I'm out I will certainly not be funding the epl more than I already do.

I just wish the whole of Scotland would stop being so pedantic! I'll believe it when it happens, all it is is scaremongering from the media, the SFA/SPL and from the The Rangers fans who are desperate to try and save their crumbling 'institution'. Scottish footballs far from being dead as is any sort of TV coverage. We've been in this situation before when Satanta took over the coverage i suspect ESPN/Fox will give the SPL a deal IF! the Sky deal fails to materialise.
