Would be much safer going to Bellgrove, you know what the huns can be like. If they go down the * then they'll be extremely angry and will be certain to cause trouble. Even if it is just a friendly.

Bridgeton isn't worth the risk. Fans have been murdered walking through there after normal games. (Hope I'm not scaring you!)

Not sure how serious you are but it sounds like it might be a bit different to walking to our home games at Norwich!! Looked at Google Street View to try and pick a route to the ground and around Bellgrove did look a bit intimidating to be honest but then I've lived a sheltered life in Norfolk all my life. Still, they do say travel broadens the mind!!
Hopefully Ranger's fans shouldn't have a problem with Norwich fans even though us and Celtic seem to have become 'new best friends'!! (said in the style of the Inbetweeners!) :50:

Might just have a top to put on over the green and yellow just in case!

Based on all the advice it sounds like Haymarket into Bellgrove and back out the same way after the game is the simplest option. Thanks very much to all who responded and we look forward to coming up on the train from Norwich to Scotland on the 25th.

The Gallowgate does indeed look a bit intimidating, but do not make the same mistake as I did in one my first Celtic games: going to the stadium through London Road from the city center (which was a very bad idea since I was wearing Celtic colours).

Even in the Gallowgate I do not show colours. Too much chance of running into Rangers fans who go from Duke Street to London Road.

Bellgrove is indeed the best option, but I also would recommend not to show anything Celtic related in the train.

Hope we do not scare you too much. I hope you enjoy the game.

The train to Bellgrove would be full of Celtic fans and the walk would be fine as there would be loads of people also walking up.

You do realise we are Norwich fans so therefore wouldn't have anything Celtic related anyway.

Think he is just meaning half and half scarves or whatever, and is your away kit not green.... that could be percieved as Celtic related

Get yourself down to any of the Celtic bars on the Gallowgate which is about a 15 minute walk from Argyle street in the city center. If in doubt where to go just ask for the Barra's.

From the Gallowgate you can easily walk to Celtic Park or jump on a bus, it's a straight road all the way.

Jesus guys, you'd think we were giving him advice for travel to central Baghdad, not Glasgow. You'll be fine mate, just follow what everyone else said and use your common sense. Should be a good game :50:

I know, but maybe you swap a scarf afterwards or something or buy a souvenir.

Ok now that every * almost scared you away.... avoid Bridgeton, avoid Duke Street.... these areas are unsafe for Celtic fans but I wouldn't recommend Norwich fans going near these areas either seeing as our support has became friendly recently. Stick to Gallowgate Street and you are safe.

I have attached a train timetable from Edinburgh. Not every train on this route stops at Bellgrove though.

    http://www.scotrail.co.uk/timetables-routes/2291/2311/2011/winter

The 17:26 from Haymarket will get you to Bellgrove @ 18:33 which leaves at least an hour to get to Celtic Park. The 17:56 from Edinburgh arrives at Bellgrove @19:03, which would only give you 30 minutes to get to the stadium.

Bearing in mind that the walk from Bellgrove is about 15 minutes, it's your choice as to which is the right train. the earlier may be better so that you can take in the pre-match atmosphere.

Have a safe journey and enjoy the match.

    :shamrock::shamrock::shamrock:

P.s. Just noticed that the attached timetable is for winter 2011, so just double check the Scotrail website for summer timings.

    Thanks Mike67
It's good of you to go to the trouble of looking up the time. The summer timetable has not changed so we will hopefully get the 17.26.

    Cheers

For the record if you or any of your pals are up for a few days it might be interesting to know that the following day there are Olympic matches at Hampden, probably not that fantastic but a good chance to take in a game at another famous stadium when you are up, just dont go away comparing it to Wembley though :56:
