Pretty tense final, so far. Kilkenny are missing far too many chances - good!

that was a tense game, draw was fair i supose but i taught that free for galway at the end was a bit dodgy, i would think kilkenny will win comfortably enough in the replay..

It was stupid defending from the Kilkenny man. Just asking for the ref to blow you up.

Tie game was definitely fair. Reckon Galway will struggle to recapture the form they showed, at least at the beginning, of today's match.

Yeah think that myself, but it all relies to what form joe canning is on, if he is firing he can single handly win a match by himself i think he is that good.
Tell ya what claiming a win and a draw agienst this kilkenny team this season is a massive achivement in itself

Dublin and Tipp drew the minor Final too, wonder what a bet on that happening would of paid out???

Should be a great replay, reckon it will be a bit more open, Either way we get ta see two great teams again.

Galway can thank their backs for another chance. Their forwards were well out of it in the 2hd half. First draw since 1959. GAA will be rubbing their hands with glee.

well thats what plenty said before yesterdays game also. truth be told, kilkenny were in big trouble without shefflin, galway had their homework done both days on how to contain kilkenny forwards and cause kk backs problems by running at them, counted 4 kk backs on yellows simply by galway taking them on. this is a young and hungry, well drilled and organised team and to say kk will win comfortably the next day based on what happened all year is a bit non sensical.

Yes i take your point, and i taught JJ Delaney was lucky not to be sent off.
But what ive noticed down the years is the underdog team usually gets there one chance to win, in every sport... Yesterday was most definatley galways chance, i just cant see them doing the same in 3 weeks, would like to see galway win it, joe canning deserves a all-ireland more than any player in the GAA but i just cant see it happening..

It surly had to be 50-1, draws are very rare in Hurling and to have the 2 finals end in a draw was unheard of.. Im sure theres a few lucky people who had a few pound onit, although i wasnt one of them :icon_mrgreen:

What happens to the betting on this game? Will the bets carry on for the replay?

Great second half yesterday, just a shootout between big Joe and Shefflin. For a big man, Canning can * move fairly quickly. Fair play to him with that free as well. Took some balls to stick that over just a couple of minutes after missing an easier free. Looking forward to the replay. I fancy Galway, they have the experience of a final now and there won`t be as many nerves next time around

come on, if ever there is a current player that deserves an all ireland medal its tony browne possibly john mullane from waterford. canning is only 23 and upto this year has been very incosistent and i thought on sunday he was fairly poor. ya cant go sayin fellas like canning deserve all ireland medals this early in their career, far better than canning have retired winning none - gary kirby, ciaran carey, ken mcgrath, paul flynn, ollie canning, eugene cloonan, dan shanahan, mark foley, ollie moran, ger loughnane, sean stack, jimmy smyth, martin quiqley....i could go on!
canning has a lot to live up to before it can be said he deserves anything in the game!

Im suprised a Waterford man left out Eoin Kelly. I agree when i started taking a proper intrest in Hurling was in around 07 when that Waterford team was at there peak, how that team never won a All-Ire is beyond me.

But i disagree with your comment on Joe Canning, he has won 3 Club All-Irelands, 2 Minors, I remember a college game i think (not sure) where he scored someting like 1.13 and still was on the losing side.
Canning is going to go down as one of the true greats of Hurling, he deserves a All-Ireland even at 23 for what he has done already.
