    Won their YPOTY after a 6 month stint and was raved about on Sportscene etc... but Chisholm had him on the left wing a lot.

    Going from Southend to being released at Wolves to being the best player in the SPL is something else though entirely.

    Charlie Mulgrew's superior rise to darling of the Celtic fans, and unrivaled glory in the SPL this season should be used by youngsters as an example of what hard work gets you.

    Nevermind programs like "Fairy Jobmother" - where some woman "helps" youngsters to get jobs, they should get Mulgrew a program of his own - he's like the Rocky of football.

    5th year in a row that a defender has won the Writers award. Cuellar, Caldwell, Weir, Izaguirre and now Mulgrew. Quite funny how our defence always gets slagged by the media, but they keep giving our defenders player of the year :rolleyes:

    Caldwell won 2 player of the years too, he won the Writers and the Clydesdale Bank SPL player of the year in 2009. It was the season Broony won the SPFA Players Player of the year, Broony also won the Celtic Player of the Year.

    sure it was 07-08 when we clawed the league back and won it at tannadice, caldwell was utterly fantastic the last part of that year, him and mcmanus were solid.
