would sell him too, he just looked like jelavic did, uninterested past few months. jelavic look different player down epl than he was for rangers past few months before they sold him on, hooper looks same. if we get 7 million plus 25 per cent sell on fee or money if england call him up, dont know how lenny has not dropped him past month or so and plays whole 90 mins, he been awful, like man down every week. hopefully not see him again this season.

Sell him are you mad?. You won't get another player like him who scores constantly for £7 million. "Sell him and get a powerful striker" - oh yeah that would be brilliant *Two months after signing target man* "We could really use a poacher, someone like Hooper, why did wr sell him. It's lawells fault blah blah".

    WHAT?!?!

Hooper hasn't been on top form for about 2 months - and he's STILL scored at least 4 goals in that time.
He's a natural finisher, someone who has, and will, score at ANY level he plays at.
Look at Chelsea, signed Fernando Torres - a once world class striker - for 50m and he's been *.

We've got Hooper at the minute, he is a guarantee of goals and no matter how much money you spend or who you buy, there are very few other players who can guarantee us goals like that.

We will be mad to accept any less than 9 mill for Hooper, and some fans are mad thinking we can just easily replace him if we do sell.

I think Hooper might be a bit over-rated - as is the case with most of our players. I certainly don't want him sold this summer though. I think there is definately something there and we've not seen the best of him yet as he seems to have an eye for a goal on the big occasions (huns and Europe). I do think he might fancy a stab at the EPL next season and the Champs League qualification gamble might sway him South.

would Southampton really bid more than 7m for him?

We need to offer him the new deal and see if he is happy here, he seems to be!

If he doesn't sign an extension then consider bids over 6m. Make sure we get a replacement.

Good link up play, particularly when Forrest comes in off the right, sharp finisher and pacey.

I like him, think he could get better but also do not think he is irreplaceable.

I'd like to think he'd want to stick around for at least another season for a crack at Europe and a few more medals in his possession.

When his time at Celtic is finished, he'll be off to a better club than Southampton anyway.

He'll have the chance to play for us in the CL qualifiers, and still leave. We'll be playing early season - July time. Window doesn't close for another month after.

If we qualify, he stays. If not, wouldn't surprise me if he decided to go south.

Every striker has strengths and weaknesses-the reality is that this guy is 25 goals a season so we really should be looking to keep him!!!

    This is what I think.
He could play at a better level than Southampton, who I think (if they stay up) will flounder in the bottom half of the league.
Hooper can get a team in the top half (like of Everton, even Sunderland under MON who we know does well at any club he goes to).

Get him signed up to a new deal, and if he wants to leave next season after a crack at Europe then fair enough.

Reckon he'll stay for a crack at the CL tbh. Glad Southampton went up this season actually. We get some money from the Hooiveld deal and hopefully they'll go straight back down and Hooper won't want to go back down to the Championship.

Think if they hadn't went up this eason and got promoted next season, and Hooper had already got a shot at the CL group stage and retained the title then he'd be a cert to go at the end of 12-13.

They can have some more of our deadwood though. The great Rasmussen and big Glenda will be looking for a new club. :86:

I genuinely believe he will stay for at least one more year.

    says he wants to stay.

Will he still say that in a few weeks/months? WHo knows, but I personally think he will be here.

Yes, I think Southampton would offer more than £7m for him. There is a relationship between Hooper and their manager Adkins from the pair's time at Scunthorpe. Adkins knows what Hooper can do and is a huge admirer of his.

In all honesty, if we got an offer of £6m+ then we would have done some f**king business!!!!
