It's been proven that he didn't swear at him though?

    Jesus * man.

A Celtic fan who gives credence to mainstream media sources when discussing stories about Scottish Football is either gullible or dense as *. Surely we don't have to have a list of the succulent lamb takers' lies? Surely not?

Fair point but would you believe an SFA referee over the Scottish mainstream media?

    Game of blind darts anyone?

First things first... if it's proven that an official has lied, then they need sacked! Simple as that!

However, I'm seeing a lot of messages this morning saying that it is proven. BUt no-one has!

My understanding is that one official said in his report that he heard swearing, and the other said that he did not. Were these officials stood together at the time of the (alleged) swearing or were they apart (i.e. was the linesman where he should have been - on the line, and was the referee where he should have been - the middle of the park)?

Again, my understanding is that the swearing allegation related to the first half and not events in the tunnel. It's therefore perfectly conceivable that the linesman heard something that the referee didn't!

It all seems to be based on Matt McGlones tweet (I * hate twatter!) as I've heard nothing else!

Finally, Celtic have said "We can confirm that we are satisfied with the fairness and spirit of the hearing and that no appeal will be made against the findings or sanctions."

Does any of the conspiracy theorists HONESTLY believe that Celtic would cow-tow with that kind of comment if it had been PROVEN that officials were making things up!?

If the SFA were to follow regulations then Lennon would have got a 2-match ban for being sent to the stand. This way, to me, the SFA were covering their arses by saying that the second half in the stand was punishment enough.
What seems to be missed out as well is the fact that Brines had basically poked Lennon in the chest while Lenny was simply asking questions.........not swearing and jumpin around.....look at the pics. Lennon in the dugout, Brines poking him in the chest and talking down to him.
To me, the refs * it, one said one thing, and one made up another.

Couldn't make it up - the SFA could release a statement today simply stating '* Celtic' and you'd still claim they weren't biased. Embarrassing.

Neither of you have answered my question!

Would Celtic play along like the daft-laddie with a quote like the one they issued if they suspected that they had been the subject of a conspiracy? I know they wouldn't have!

I'm satisfied with the outcome - Lennon isnt getting banned, his name has been cleared and the refs have been proven to have lied. Willie Conquer has reported Stokes to the SFA for last Sunday and Lennon also has another hearing over his head - Celtic now have something over the SFA - how can Conquer's word be believed when he has lied already? Celtic are playing this exactly as i'd want them to. It's quite ironic that you are moanign about nto responding to your question when there are plenty of times on this thread were people have asked for blatant, proven cases of cheating against any other team in Scottish football, all of which have been conveniently ignored.

As for Brines pointing at Lenny... do you think it was because Lenny was politely disagreeing with him, or because Lenny was speaking to him in a manner that he deemed unacceptable!? Again, having seen Lenny's face contorted the way it was for most of the match, then I strongly suspect it was the latter!

Remember that Brines is a copper, so he's not about to be over-awed and take abuse off someone without biting back!

PS - just to nail my colours to the mast I'M GREEN AND WHITE and I loved Lenny as a player, but not convinced about Lenny the Manager! Just felt the need to say that as the conspiracy police will no doubt brand me a traitor for daring not to question everything they type!

i have no problem with anyone disagreeing if they can provide evidence or proof. Look at the pics - Lenny's face isn't contorted. The fact you are feeling the need to try and convince people that you are a Celtic fan whilst backing a ref ahead of our own manager sums it up for me.

Sorry, but I don't pay much attention to the dealings that other Scottish clubs have with officialdom, so I wouldn't be able to help you there.

I can paint this in another light... Celtic should have gone for their throats if they believed that they had been lied about. Made a big deal out of it and taken a few more officials out in the process, THEN they might be likely to get a free-ride over Neils other disciplinary matters!

Making things up to suit an agenda is easy...

I'm not calling you a Rangers fan btw - the fact you yourself feel the need to convince us that you are sums up your opinions for me - you are in the severe minority and have yet to provide evidence otherwise. If you don't pay attention to other teams dealings with officialdom, how can you say you, categorically, that the Refs aren't biased and just make honest mistakes?

Celtic never went for their throat last year either, they were patient and were rewarded with the dismissal of Dougie McDonald - it was successful then and it may be now too. The part in bold is, possibly, the most hypocritical thing i've ever read on here...

So you are debating from a position of.... not knowing most of the facts then?
