As I mentioned above, Anderlecht does it as well.

    I'm not picky.
    No.

For me the 1 star we have has a lot more meaning behind it than the 5 stars that they have.

Those hun * think that having 5 stars representing them winning (and I use the term "winning" loosely) more than 50 SPL titles means more than our 1 star :56:

Their 5 stars is pure desperation on their part and it's not even on a par to winning the BEST European prize and being the first British - and only Scottish - side to do it.

1 BIG one means more than 5 wee ones :bbpd:

EDIT: Plus the 5 stars on their shirt reminds us that they FAILED to win the big one 54 times :icon_mrgreen:

    Let the people sing,
Think some points in this thread are totally wrong with this topic to be honest.

The star was first used to represent 10 league titles, and Juventus was the first to do so in 1958. In 1970, Brazil added 3 stars to represent 3 world cups.

The original point of the star was to represent 10 league titles, that's the bottom line. However, i still believe we have still done the right thing though by only taking a star for what is most important to us. Who knows if a non Celtic or Rangers side will win the league in the next 50 years - so by that time both of us will be running out of space to put stars? That just discredits this * league even more.

Any other league in the world and i would say go with the 10 leagues for a star, not in Scotland though.

    This is it for me.

We have put the star on the shirt to represent the biggest thing we have achieved and is nothing to do with just representing league titles like how a lot of clubs are doing.

Juventus had their star for being the first Serie A club to win 10 league titles. Brazil were the first to win 3 World Cups. Those have big meanings but a lot of clubs seem to add a star now just for purely reaching a certain milestone and not for any certain real achievement.

Our star is not just because we won the European Cup. It's to do with the fact that we were the first non-latin, the first British and only Scottish club to win it. There is more meaning behind that than just adding a star for every 10 league titles won.

Huns were the first to 50 SPL titles. Big whoop. Our star is for an amazing achievement and it's not for a "every one else is doing the league title star so we'll do it too" kind of thing.

Exactly. We should only add stars when we win European Cups.

Nah why cheapen our 1 great star. Them and their whole 5 star thing was just away to teach their children their 10 times table (10 x 5 = 50 etc) since they all have 12 n 13 fingers each they cant use their fingers to count like normal people.

The dons have won 2 european trophies much more than the rotten huns have ever done!!! And much more recently!

Could you imagine if Alex Ferguson had stayed with them sheepshaggers? What the shape of Scottish football could be like today? We can only dream.
