St Lennon brigade haha, ffs...... But nah I wouldn't say embarrased, whats done is done players would have got a pelting in dressing room so no need for Managers to slam them to press,

No. What cost us the game was us not playing anywhere near as well as we could have. If he we had the whole incident would be irrelevant.

The penalty part is the bit that is factually incorrect. As shown by the fact that even on here, after witnessing so many television angles and replays and listening to NL, John Hartson and acknowledged footballers, referees and critics, etc, there is no definite conclusion as to whether it was or was not a penalty.

We were not far superior. Kilmarnock played well and although they were not better than us they were certainly not worse and deserve respect.

If we were far superior then the penalty decision would be irrelevant anyway and Celtic would have plyed to their potential and scored at least 3 goals.

So their keeper getting MOTM was a myth?

And anyway, we don't have a divine right to roll every team over all the time.

I think some Celtic fans are spoiled by the Martin O'Neill era.

Yes, their keeper played fantastically well and made some amazing saves.

No, this doesn't translate too us being far superior. Kilmarnock played good football and had chances of their own. They also scored one of their chances, which is the fact that matters most.

[/QUOTE] And anyway, we don't have a divine right to roll every team over all the time.

I think there is something lost in translation as on this we seem to be singing from the same hymn. If this is what you think then I obviously misunderstood your earlier comment. I was simply arguing that as the team with a bigger infrastructure and better played/more highly regarded playing staff we should not have been reliant on a last minute penalty.

I did not mean that we had right to win.

Its embarrassing when some of our supporters are criticising things that lennon is saying , would you rather he kept him mouth shut and let everyone walk over him ..

We are talking about this incident in isolation though so the overall performance is irrelavent

It was a penalty and we didn't get. What problem do you have with Lennon stating this publically?

Well the manager thought it was a penalty, is he not allowed an opinion? Jesus :87:

thats not what i said and this whole thread youve looked out for an argument * :38:

why should we depend on a penelty to beat kilmarnock. the game should of been buried before halftime, but the team wernt up for it expecting someone else to score and we will win.
They were too overconfident and they lost and deserved it tbh :31:

This thread is about Lennons views on the penalty not about the game in general

At the end of the day Lennys a Celtic fan like the rest of us and im sure like the rest of us he was angry after the game, maybe looking back now that the dusts settled a bit he might regret saying what he did.I for one have no problem with him having his view on the incident don,t forget that we Rat collums got previous and i'm sure this was running through his head at the time also

i always love just how passionate Lennon is and he shows just how much it hurt him that we lost that final/ chance at a treble. Would we rather that our manager was quiet and never stood up for anything ( TONY MOWBRAY anyone?!)

not really, he was right. said exactly how I felt about the penalty though that being said I thought he was quite lenient on the overall performance; ok, i get that he doesn't want to publicly slate his players minutes after theyve lost a cup final and I suspect what he says behind closed doors will be slightly different to what he says in public. but maybe he could have been slightly harsher on the players.

Besides, I'll never be "embarrassed" to have Neil in charge of our club, would you rather have a fat former game show host who can't win any game at the minute as a manager? :56:

i think the crux of the matter was that the reporters 1st question was, what did you think of the penalty decision or words to that effect and that set the interview up for Neil to complain and seem victimised and or a bad loser!

for what it's worth i think Neil has got to learn that the media are not his friends and are looking for SPICY SENSATIONAL *!
Theres no doubt in my mind that that reporter knew that Neil was * off and was determined to get that reaction on camera! Neil has to be aware of this! Thats what reporters do especially the * up here!

For me NL a die hard celtic man... and i love him for it and i think martin oneil is aswell but he was more canny with the press up here and seen through all their *, so did wee gordon strachan! lennys got to be a little smarter.

Can't be bothered reading every post to see if it's mentioned that Collum's a cheat but just to be clear - he's not. He's incompatent - if he was a cheat he'd have given the "goal" against Hearts even if he thought it didn't cross the line.

Re Lenny - Alan Rough somed it up best for me (this isn't a direct qoute but not far off) "He's a bad looser, so am I. We're profesional football players and want to win, when I get beat at anything I'm throwing things about the place. He's a passionate man that wants to win things."

Now a direct quote from Ayrton Senna "Show me a good looser and I'll show you a looser"

Alex Ferguson, Jose Mourinho, Craig Levein, Billy Brown, Paulo Di Canio, Arsene Wenger, Rafa Benitez, Martin ONeill. Just a few names off the top of my head who I can remember saying worse than Lenny did on Sunday.

I agree with Rossi, he's not a cheat he's just hopeless, he reminds me of some of the other pedantic school teachers from years ago.
