US Soldier kills 16 innocent people.

A US soldier has shot dead at least 16 Afghan civilians, including nine children, after entering their homes in the middle of the night.

The victims included women and elderly men.

Terrible. And to add insult to injury most fools will swallow the line that it was just "one bad apple" who "flipped".

Go outside the propaganda conveyer and it's clear there is evidence of multiple soldiers, drink involved and possible burnings of the bodies.

I suppose there will be more great surprise, handwringing and headscratching as we lazily label the children that were left evil terrorists in a few years and why they can't be more like us and "our boys" etc .

When will we learn that our fundamentalist propaganda is every bit as dangerous and counter productive as "theirs".

Start telling the truth, stop creating the hate, park the greed and get this * sorted.

Hopefully the Afghan fighters will avenge the massacre of their people.

However, maybe we shouldn’t jump to conclusions… perhaps the children were "terrorists"

Since this guy will have been detained already who would they do the avenging upon that it would be justified?

 

He would have to be tried in Afghanistan, surely?

Seems to be one psycho who went on a rampage. But obviously it's still early days. If I was to guess, and I'm only guessing, I'd imagine that the guy has some kind of untreated PTSD. Maybe compounded by some other mental illness to make it all worse. Maybe some kind of delusion that he's surrounded by people who are trying to kill him.

What we know is that we can expect is a surge in violence in the region as the Taliban try and capitalise on anti-NATO sentiment that will be higher than ever.
