What do we need to do in the summer?

get rid of deadwood and maybe sell ki,commons,mccourt.buy left sided midf,cent midf and 2 strikers for me

also paul dixon on a free

 

Ki has to stay another year for me.

Commons has the rest of the season to prove he can fight to be a 1st team player again

 

Deal with the inevitable national jelly and ice-cream shortages.

commons for me has lost it and i would sell he looks the shadow of the player from last year,ki if a big money offer came in i would sell,we have fojut coming in summer so another cb doubt it

Keep everybody we've got and sign Forster

Remember we still have McGeouch, Twardzik, Ibrahim and George. We shouldnt sign a midfielder unless we were to lose 2 of Forrest, Brown, Ledley, Ki, Kayal or Wanyama. At the back we will also have Lustig and Fojut whove not played/came yet.

 

Not sure we need a back up lb to be honest. As long as Izzy gets back to his best he'll play every week and if he's out for a couple of weeks Mulgrew or Ledley can fill in. Maybe not ideal but we're going to struggle to keep anyone who's better than them to sit on the bench every week.

We def need to sign a keeper with Forster being the obvious choice.
A CH (reserve judgement on Fojut) and CF would be nice too, although I'm sure Lenny will be looking at options to strenthen in every singel area of the pitch

With Matthews, Lustig, Wanyama, K.Wilson, Mulgrew, Rogne, Fojut and Izaguirre plus Blackman, Fraser and Chalmers and even Ledley we dont need any defenders even if M.Wilson, Cha, Loovens, O'Dea and Majstorovic all left.

As we'd still have 3 possible right-backs(Matthews, Lustig and Fraser), 7 possible centre halves(Lustig, Wanyama, Rogne, Wilson, Mulgrew, Fojut, Fraser and Chalmers) and 5 possible left-backs (Izaguirre, Mulgrew, Ledley, Chalmers and Blackman).

 

I wouldn't want Ki or Commons sold, I still think they have big parts to play here, even if it is as part of a squad rotation system. However if a good offer came in, I would be willing to see them go. Samaras as well.

I would like McCourt to stay, but I think he deserves first team football and I can't see him getting that here.
In terms of signings, our priority should be a quality CB. We went out of Europe this season largely due to individual errors. If we're going to put in a challenge in the Champions league, we need to splash out on a quality, experienced CB. I'd really like to see most of our prize money for winning the title go on one. A new striker isn't so vital, but it would be nice to get a big, goalscoring target man in, even if just for back up to Stooper.

Looking at our full squad list there is a wee bit of slimming that needs to be done.

Majstorovich and Loovens i think will go, their deals i think are finished in the summer, two reasonably large wage earners will go.
Cha-Du-Ri i think will also be allowed to go.

I think we are at a stage where if Celtic really want to improve then we need to be a bit ruthless in cutting the squad a wee bit more, the likes of McCourt/Rasmussen/Juarez should be sold. This in total would mean about 6 players could potentially leave Celtic. From then we have Fojut coming in, on top of that i would like to see a Striker come in and although Fojut is a cb i would really like to see us try to bring in one of real quality. Also tie Forster up on a permanent deal.

So not too many things need to be added apart from 1 or 2 good additions. Mainly cut down the squad size and reduce the wage bill a bit.

 

Why though?

Forrest, Ledley, Commons, McCourt and Samaras can all play there as well as Mulgrew and even Izaguirre.

How will we fit Forrest, Brown, Ledley, Ki, Kayal, Wanyama, McGeouch, Samaras never mind Ibrahim, McCourt, Commons etc into 4 spaces if we sign another?

 

Hopefully Fojut can do the business, so CB should be fine.
A goalkeeper, unless we sign big Fraser
Could do with a tricky midfielder, hopefully Ibrahim can do the job but would like someone experienced.
Finally, I was watching JVOH clips last night on YouTube and I would love to sign a big * of a ST that can bully defenders and score headers

Rid of: Cervi, Cha, Loovens, (possibly) K.Wilson, (probably) Juarez, Commons, Murphy. Probably will get rid of Paddy as much as I love him. McGinn and Rasmussen probably get the punt as well.

Other than that, a big, strong striker. And just in general reject any bids for the rest of the team. IMO

Edit: Would also like to see Johnny Russell come, but that's probably not a necessity tbh.

We are only missing a striker but Bangura or Brozek could still turn out good and theres also Johnny Russell

 

Punt the deadwood, of which there is no shortage at thee moment, and tie down Fraser Forster.

Buy Johnny Russel and Gary Mackay-Steven.

 

I don't think we need anyone, would be happier to see a few faces leave the club.
