[Question] Samsung Galaxy S2 Users

looks like my hanset has some thing called (S.O.D) sleep of death, which means when it sleeps(fades to black) after 10 minutes it will not wake.
Have to take it back

But checked online and folk say if you down load the "load monitor" app the problem stops, so i have downloaded it but i think i should still take it in, what do you guys think or has anyone ever heard of this ?

How long have you had it?

I recently just upgraded and mine is fine.

Some handsets do have bugs in them though apparently so make sure you do take it back to wherever you got it from.

Think thats the problem I have with my galaxy ace, they kept replacing it, they thought it was the battery. I did a bit of research online, turns out its something to do with the wifi, so I just have mine switched off, and hasn't happened since

 

took it back today its away to get fixed, if they cant fix it il get another one, btw mel only got it on monday

 

My wife and I each got one about 3 months ago. We are both very pleased with them. One of the things I found wrong was the battery drain. With a large screen like that it seems to go pretty quick. I got the juicedefender app and I don't have to worry about the battery dieing in less than a day.
If you like watching videos or reading forums and other stuff I don't think you can beat this phone, the size is not much of a hindrance even with the otterbox.

 

Awesome phone, was an iphone user as well just the fact that it has flash media player killed the iphone for me

i got it back from repair on monday where the letter with it said that "two engineers have looked at it and found the problem and fixed it" an hour into using it and it was back to its old tricks so its away AGAIN !

this time though they have sent a replacement which i should recieve today so fingers crossed !

Btw anyone that ever has this problem, get it replaced, they cannot fix it from what i have heard and if you use the "load monitor app" that some suggest it drains the battery life to *. lucky to get 4 hours out the phone with no use ! its crap get it replaced asap !

If the new one comes in with the same problem i may have to go for something else as its * me off so much tbh, love the phone though !

 

Downloading an app called applanet. Wich lets you buy all the apps and games for free

 

I have an s2.

Battery life is shocking
screen is nice big n bright
touch screen is not as good as the iphone setup

but its not a patch on blackberry. I will go back to them.in the summer. am.not a fan of touch screen

 

How long are you getting? I'm easily getting at least 15 hour per charge

 

I go to work at 7am, my battery lasts to about 9/10pm (heavy use at dinner time) on my IPhone.. What would I get out the S2?

It's really down to how much you use the phone. If you constantly have wifi bluetooth etc running and also several apps in the background it will run your battery down. Also if you use live wallpapers it takes up a lot of your battery.

While the screen is great, it's also worth turning the brightness down - it also saves up some battery.

When you first get the phone you should let it run right down and then charge it up until 100% uninterrupted. I got told this was so important to do at the start.

Also to do the same at least once a month.

I take my phone off charge around 8am and by 10pm at night I'm down to about 40% left. For me it's perfect but I always make sure I have no apps running in the background!

 

Phone is class...had mine 8 months....And the games are all free....wink wink

 

Went and got a white one today. Got 6 months of contract paid off, £20 petrol to come back to Cumbernauld to get a different bank card, £50 pair of headphones and £50 for my HTC Mozart. The guy said he would throw in something so I could watch Sky Sports and MTV on the phone but can't remember the name of it. Anyone any ideas ? Said there meant to be £5 each or some pish but he'd throw them in for nothing.

 

I am on my second one...

First one used to heat up so bad you could not hold the back of it, then I got drunk and it got stolen by a cab driver.

Second one I got a week ago, and its excellent, I am a heavy user and get about 12-15 hours from the battery.

Protip - Get launcherpro plus. It changed the look of the phone somewhat, can do cool things like it will flip the home screen vertically and horo as well.

It keep battery life to a minimum and makes the phone run smoother and faster.

 

Theres an update out just now. Just incase anyone hasn't hooked up to the computer lately.

 

What do you mate, update for the phone? How you do that?



Anyone else you applenet market app, where you go onto it and you can downloads free games. I've got some cracking games of it where some of them would of set me back £5 on the android market
