He is a frustrating player. It's nothing out of the ordinary that some fans react in this way. You're being overly sensitive.

 

I'm not being sensitive you called the criticism reasonable and I showed you what I would say is unreasonable criticism.

I know but my point is you only seem to concentrate on those comments you consider to be unreasonable as if you are forever ready to jump to Sammy's defence. These are the sorts of opinions you expect to see on a football forum.

 

Class on his day, far to inconsistent but seems a loyal (wrong word choice) player and decent fella!!

he's the only one on the park that gets away with not busting his balls defending for the team, which is why he gets the stick even if he's off form he should be fighting for the team

there was an occasion today when emelio was being closed down at the corner flag and the only pass he had on was a simple one to samaras but he didnt play it but instead kept the ball ran back to the goal line and beat his man before blootering it up the park

thats the problem samaras gives the team, emelio has been in loads of * because he can't play an out ball to him or one two with him in the corner because he's not reliable in a defensive sense

and its not just emelio when samaras is struggling for form he just doesnt give a * about the hard work the team needs from him in a defensive sense

and because he gets away with it others in the team stop putting in the required effort and we start playing like amateurs

contrast sammy with pukki night and * day, pukki will run after anything same as brown thats the type of attitude you need in a team not the i'm to important to do the dirty work, i don't defend * from samaras

 

No he's not, some of the same people who never * up criticising him are the same ones who give Forrest and Stokes a free pass all the time.

I * love Sammy, swear I'd be delighted if he signed a bumper new ten year deal in the morning.

your right sammys not give a * defending and not working hard defensively is contagious and now we've got stokes and forrest trying it on aswell

Another frustarting performance. What was he thinking first half, after skipping away from a few Hibs players, all he has to do, is look left and slide it to Commons. Instead, he had a go that in all honesty, the keeper had a hard neck for even picking up. The sooner he is away, the better in my opinion. How he started over Balde or Pukki is even more annoying, but that's Lennon's baffling decisions for you.

 

As many already know, i have defended him for years on this forum, but im actually on the same boat as the most of you guys now. I want him gone! He have such fantastic ability, but he dont have the intelligence in his desicion making (* my spelling) imo. 8 out of 10 times he makes the wrong decision in 1 on 1's.

 

Finishes like that is why I call him Sidefoot Sammy. He's more than capable of hitting the ball properly and had he done that there I wouldn't have minded it, but noooo, he prefers to sidefoot it meekly straight at the keeper.

 

It was a shocking effort, after a superb bit of play in the build up. The correct choice was to give it to Commons, but as we all know, decision making isn't a strong point of his.

 

Just no. After making a chance for yourself from absolutely nothing you have every right to shoot. Yeh fair enough the attempt was terrible but you can't say it was the wrong choice. If you have ever played football you are never looking to pass the ball there. 99% of players take the shot.

 

Don't hit me with the "if you have ever played football" nonsesne. I played football believe it or not, and just becasue you have beaten a couple of players, doesn't mean that the right choice is to shoot. Commons was in a better position than Samaras was, and he should have played him in. A bit like in the San Siro also, when he skipped past a couple of men, and should have played in Stokes, but never. There is another example away in Helsingborg also, which would have made it 3. All down to bad decision making. All had another thing in common, he failed to score on every occasion.
