I don`t agree with your original statement that he was *, but at least you put a reasoned argument forward, unlike others who will mention "playing with his hair" and other nonsense.

I think that Sammy is the most feared player Celtic have for European sides, he was heavily marked for the majority of the game and in particular set-pieces. He was loose with possession on a few occasions and like others was having a tough time trying to get through passes for runners (more often trying to make something happen). More to do with the set-up of Juventus who killed any space behind and within 20 yards of their own box.

You highlighted the run and cross for Hooper`s chance; unfortunately he was the only one apart from Ledley in 2nd half to reach the by-line and cut the ball back. Most of the balls into the area, came from wide areas which they mopped up.

Samaras is our best player by a long, long way. We need many more like him.

Aye, fair enough. I`m probably being a bit harsh on Sammy. He has been top class in Europe this season. But you made the point about him being heavily marked. This is the problem with Sammy in most SPL games. He just doesn`t get the space and is completely ineffective in most games. Thats why he always flourishes in the Euro games - always a bit of space to run into

Juve handled him well tonight though. They got their tactics spot on again. Conte is a top class manager imo

Booked for taking his top off.

I hate jobsworth * like that who don't use a bit of common sense when applying the rules.

Probably a six fingered citrus freak sickened by the last minute winner by the big sexy greek *.

Come on, mate, you'd struggle to see a ref not book a player for that regardless of when it happens. Rules are rules unfortunately.

I watched him at the final whistle he just casually started to strolloff the pitch and I was like *? is he seriously not going to take the applause and applaud the fans...

I then notice he just went over to his best pal zaluska and ran and jumped on him ands started going crazy does anyone know why these two are so close?

Maybe the whole top off situation was but I remember when he went into crowd in 2-0 game against deadco and over the years I've seen guys like lafftit and kenny sitter do similar things and walk away Scott free!

That I agree with, refs have a lot of 'discretion room' in those cases to do as they please. Altho I think Sammy's was a booking then, but if you remember what joke of a booking Watt's was at Tannadice this season in the 2-2 game, where Miku got booked for jumping into the fans too.

Seen a clip on youtube a few weeks ago of a game in south america or somwhere mad.

Anyway 1 of teams goes to make a sub, the boy starts walking off then takes his top of when hes nearly at the dug out, ref runs over and books him then sends him off cos it was his 2nd yellow. :56:

I even remember the ref going to book Darren Jackson up at Aberdeen after he made his comeback after his illness guy just had a bit of passion and was happy that he could still play unless a player is deliberately wasting time ie Porto against us running the full length of the * running track to run time out then it shouldn't be a booking

His attitude towards us in this day and age makes him a contender.

He won't be considered a "legend", it's not even a debate to be quite frank.

Put it this way, he'll no doubt be in the "cult figures" or "heroes" part of the Celtic Wiki in years to come. Not the Legend part.

It's not a slight on him, he's done well to turn his Celtic career around to even be considered like that at all. Well done to him :50:

    x2.

    An amazing turnaround from him.

I can genuinely see him being ten year testimonial material.

Aye, that's a distinct possibility. I reckon he'll get one even if he leaves here at 30/31. But I don't think it's outside the realm of possibility he could still be here at 32/33 :50:
