The reason he dosen't play on a weekly basis is because he has proved to be inconsistent and he dosen't score enough goals, if he was the world beater that some make out then he'd be plying his trade elswhere.

I have no time for him as a player...he has proved too often how brutal he is..he got lucky last night..law of averages says he has to play well once in a while..now i am not complaining..he put in a shift last night...i would much prefer him in the side than that donkey Maj..he is not related to a centre back...
Something I do think that is worth considering is playing Samaras at centre back..it could be his natural position...its worth looking at

He deserves great credit last night .. but ... swallow .. one .. summer .. as always.

Until he finds consistency, he won't be worth the jersey or contract he has.

It is even more frustrating when you see Samaras playing the way he did last night compared to the amount of garbage we are used to from him.

Congratulations! You have just discovered the one way to make our back four look even worse :56:

Seriously though, Samaras at centre-half? I would be like this :s:

I expect he will get a contract extension after his heroics.

When he first joined us he had a good run of games and was fantastic. Got injured for a bit and never got that consistant chance realy. Im not saying hes a world beater but hes an incredibly talented player.

Thats an excuse mate. He hasnt scored in 20 odd games now. Ok, he hasnt started in all of them. But he is a striker, his job is to score goals.

Stokes and Hooper have both came off the bench and managed to finish.

All credit to a good performance last night, but needs it all the time.

Hooper wouldn't have scored if it wasn't for Samaras.

He needs to start more, he's not an out and out striker, he's a forward, and as he proved, he tends to set more goals up then he scores.

Sammy only really gets played in the hard games so it's unfair to complain at his lack of goals. I don't know what you mean about not scoring in the last 20 games, hes only took part in about 5 of them.

I am actually shocked that there are people who still like sammy, he has had about 2/3 good performances for us in 3 years!

Couple of lucky goals against the huns, 1 game.
Decent game the other night, 2 games.

    Can't think of any others.

I took a mate to a game a year back. My friend likes Celtic but doesn't really follow them, all the same he enjoyed the occasion. The thing he kept saying was how he had no idea how much ability samaras had until he saw him play for real. The guy is a good footballer first and foremost. He's not a finisher like Hooper or Stokes but all the same he is a better all round footballer. That's why we continue to show support for him.

A decent game for the first time since May isn't sufficient, he has to be playing consistantly well for several games on the spin to be considered a decent player, not a one-off every few months.

He's still had a pish season.

He played well against Athletico, Sion and he came of the bench against Hibs and played very well.

I honestly think you don't watch Celtic, you read forums and post on reactions. Some of your posts are laughable.

Agreed he aint been on form, but he is not being played in a performing team, he is not an impact sub and he is not a * left mid.

Also, playing him beside Hooper, who is a poacher and lazy will not benifit Samaras at all, the minute he was played up with Stokes and some fluid play around him, he dominiated the game. and thats an understatment.

I watch every game, every week!

Sammy and hooper have NO chemistry, from looking into body language, hooper HATES sammy, as well he should. Sammy IS and only ever will be a IMPACT SUB. Like when he first came to us, coming off the bench to score goals againt the dons in the cup and so froth, nothing more than a bench warmer!
