Georgios Samaras

It really bugs me when people moan about his lack of goals when more than half the time, Lennon plays him out of position in midfield/wing.

 

I am one who hates seeing sammy on the teamsheet, I tend to blame him for a lot of things but not tonight, he played well - I thought he had a great game and was really effective against a good quick right back. Ashame he cant do this all the time. Doesnt need to score goals if he can cause the other team as many problems as he did tonight!

 

And where was stokes fitting in like samaras is a * of a lot better than stokes playing wide and hooper did nothing up front cos he stands still expecting the bal

he played well. hope it wasn't the only game he was saving himself for in the season.

Samaras gets slated if he plays well or not. Seems to be that if he is on the pitch that he gets the blame. The people who actually know football can see that he actually was one of our better players tonight. Such as evilp3te who is a self confessed Sammy hater.

He is getting the blame for not scoring and not supporting Hooper. Do people know that he wasn't up front or are they just that blinded by their hatred for Samaras?

I apologise but I actually cannot stand anyone being so hate filled and biased towards a loyal Celtic player. Think it's * horrible.

 

Im will support a celtic player forever more but sammy just aint up to it!! Cant score!! Cant pass!! Spends most of his time on his *!! How many goals last season remind me???

 

Strachan had him on loan and then signed him.

Lenny continues to play him in the games against opposition who are actually of a decent standard.

He is one of the main players in a very decent Greece side.

Granted he's inconsistent and sometimes infuriating because he is capable of so much more at times. But he is what he is. An Enigma.

He plays in all our games this year in Europe for me because he's our only forward player capable of stretching defences and gliding past players with consumate ease.

Hooper is a good player but probably lacks real pace to make a real impact at European level TBH.

The difference in level between the SPL and European football is as big as it has been in years.

 

You said it the difference is massive between SPL and europe so you would play sammy who can glide past players with ease but cant score! Or Hooper who lacks experience and is half the age of sammy but has a better goalscoring record in the SPL than sammy??

Credit where credit is due. Samaras was good tonight. Hooper was awful. Yet we are talking about Samaras? I just think some of you are "obsessed" with blaming it on Samaras.

 

One of his better performances in a Celtic jersey, however is it his way of trying to make Sunday's Old Firm match ?

 

played not to bad lost the ball a few times deep in our own half inviting pressure im a sammi basher not in to him he gets in my * as there is a player there! we just dont play the system normally that he flourishes in, IMO he would play well in the huns 4-5-1

 

I really, really don't like Sammy but he was very good last night, his direct running was a threat.
