Exactly. There are 11 player on the pitch. Its a team game. there were 9 other outfield players that could have had the opportunity to score. Its always the same. When sammy plays and doesnt score, its always his fault. Wonder what will be said if we have another 0-0 draw this season and he isnt playing

Wouldnt get rid of him tho

Total waste of a jersey. I gave up on the big fairy a long time ago. It actually makes me angry just seeing him on the pitch now. :31:

He was so frustrating to watch. Offered nothing positive in 83 minutes of football.

He should have been sold long ago.

I see Lenny has came out and defended him - he's defending the indefensible. Easily the most frustrating player I've ever watched in a Celtic jersey.

Lenny made a big mistake by not punting him last summer, these are the type of decisions that could ultimately cost the manager his job

Ahhhh the enigma that is sammy.

We all know on his day he can rip it up, but I glad Lenny kept hold of him, because if we don't have a striker to fill his boots then it's daft to get rid.

That's is a daft thing to say. He wasn't any better or any worse than anyone else last night. He doesn't deserve this level of criticism.

Opinions of Sammy aren't formed over 1 game, he IS consistently * and as someone said earlier a total waste of a jersey

He is blamed for everything unless he has a 10 out of 10 game. Its just ridiculous. The entire team(except a few) was pish last night. Yet Sammy gets blamed and insulted.

5 goals in 52 games . we need a big striker in the box, not this * strolling around.

What are you talking about. Did you make those figures up?

139 appearances and 43 goals with us. Which isn't bad considering many of those appearances will have been from the bench.

Sorry buddy, but its not ridiculous at all, he gets on the majority of fans nerves now and doesn't contribute anything to the team, i swear it sometimes seems he's playing for the opponent, the amount of times he breaks down the flowing passing with his dittering twist and turning into dead areas, also his finishing has got worse since he joined, time to move him on, he's a likable big guy, but a horrible player

Do people really dislike Samaras so much that they can't admit he had a solid first half last night?

It's not his fault he didn't have any support.

I'm not purely assessing Samaras on last night's performance, I agree the whole team were not up to the mark, however when you are a striker your supposed to score goals on a regular basis or at least try.

Samaras is lazy, he lacks the mentality to be a winner, craps out of the tackles and allows players a foot less in height to out jump him. The only time he is consistent is when he's picking up his pay-packet.

He's been at Celtic three seasons now and we seen him perform in no more than four or five games, he knows he's got a nice little earner here at Celtic, he gets away with not trying in most games, so he really doesn't care.

Neil is insulting our intellegance if he claims " Samaras brings a lot to the team ", it sounds the same as the crap Strachan tried to feed us claiming we were playing great football under him, we all knew that his team was not enertaining, so please don't go down the same road as Strachan Neil, get rid of this big waste of space !!!

The problem is that Lenny is trying to persevere with players who are simply not up to the task.

I can fully understand why he is sticking up for him, there is a definite element of scapegoat as regards to Samaras.

However, you can say he did well at set pieces until you are blue in the face. He did * all in an attacking sense and he simply was not and has not been good enough for a long period of time.

He wasn't the reason we lost the league last season or the reason we drew with Sion but he was a contributing factor in both.
