    Cool.

As Kemosabe rightly says, 3 goals a season for a Celtic striker is despicable.

I myself have been an avid hater of Sammy in the past, and probably still will be at some points......

I just think he has something different to offer us, and has more goals to get us.

I'm going to make a bold prediction and say he will score more than 12 goals next season.......if he doesn't i'll post a pic of me covered head to toe in HP Sauce:50:

I dont blame him for costing us the league. That is done throughout the season. But he could have won it by scoring that penalty. It was that important. But we must move on from it.

15 goals a season?? That isnt going to happen mate. He has only achieved that figure once, and he has been on a downward trajectory ever since.

Im also keen to know what this something different he gives us is? Do you mean unable to trap the ball up front? Unable to pick out a pass when he does have the ball? Run down blind alleys? Then yes, I agree, he gives us something different.

He wins his fair share of headers? I dont agree with that one bit. For a big guy, he is actually pretty * in the air. And any he does win are aimless knock ons at best. I agree we will probably have a dynamic strikeforce next season , but that is only if we stick with Hooper and Stokes up top.

In fact, I would rather see more of Murphy next season than Sammy.

he aint getting punted ,that i do know. why would he be on a new deal

everyone can moan all they want but its not our decision if he goes and the manager has faith in him so he will be here next season.

i understand peoples frustrations as i also have the same feelings but im willing to back him as long as the club back him and he has gave us some magical moments, despite never having a 10 game run in the team.

i also will do the same except with reggae reggae sauce

    spicy!

Hooper missed two big spots in the season. He lamented this in the press today. I'd imagine he'll hit 30 goals, next season. Stokes will hit 20+, as well, if he partners him. Sammy...5 if he's lucky.

Don't think the selling option is available, no one seems to be buying or selling. The enigma may have to go on for another season

    Well said.

    Your opinion, not fact.

I can't really add much to what has been said. 3 league goals in a season is a poor return even if two of them got us one of the best wins of the season.

I think that Sammy needs to be more decisive and assertive when he's on the ball. It often looks like he over-thinks things and seems used to a slightly slower paced style of football.

The thing that is the most frustrating about Samaras, is the chances that he misses. Could it be that he opens his body up too much before taking a shot, therefore giving the keeper a better idea of where he's going to place the ball? He definitely has a problem with being clinical in front of goal and sometimes I think he should just try and do the easier thing and smash the ball on target. He should also work on using his height to his advantage when we're in the air.

And this is something that is infuriating at times, he's been ok in the air defensively for us this past season. Clearing away corners with his head. He should be concentrating more on trying to attack the ball from corners as we seem to really lack a thread from them.

One thing I do disagree with people on is his attitude. I don't believe he has an attitude problem. I recall an interview with Strachan where he stated that Samaras was like a sponge, always wanting to learn and that if he could make use of the information he absorbs, he could be scarily good.

His two big problems are consistency and decision making. The way he plays looks as if the manager asks him to be the striker who tries to drop deep and link the midfield to attack. He often ends up too deep or far out wide and this could be one of the reasons he isn't scoring as many as he should. I think the reason he gets asked to play this kind of roll is because of his pace and movement. I'd like to see him become more of a predator in the style of McDonald during some games.

I don't think he's *, I think he'll peak in his later twenties and become a bit more consistent. But he needs to really improve his goal return.

Maybe more than 2. Not more than 7 though, the amount Samaras scored.

Another difference being Murphy didn't destory the huns by scoring 2 goals at Ibrox in a 2-0 win, in a game that turned our season around.

Murphy scored 3, Sammy scored 7, 2 of Murphys were pens. Sammy won a hun game for us and scored in Europe.

Whatever you do, don't get that stuff on your bell end.

Anyway, I really doubt Samaras will be going before the transfer window shuts. As Mystic Penguin said we should all support him next season.

And Murphy gets just as many people on his back as Samaras does.

I used 15 goals a season as it was the amount the OP asked if was an acceptable amount for him next season. I don't think its that far outside the realms of possibility for Sammy to score 15+ next season, especially if Lenny shows him he believes in him, he's a confidence player and definetly has the talent.

He does win his share of headers, he wins the first ball the majority of the time it is hoofed up to him, it is up to midfielders running through to pick these up - something our CM's are not the best at. He also has good chest control and manages to keep possesion of the ball when it is hit up to him.

As for something different, he if better at turning on the ball and running at players than any of our other ST due to his pace, granted his decision making on where he runs isn't always the best but it does tire defenders out and moves them around a lot.It is also this that will make him probably the best option upfront in away games in Europe. He also seems to be able to score in the bigger games because there is more room - Rangers, Tel-Aviv, Dynamo Moscow etc.

im not comparing their style of play, im comparing their ability.

I think murphy's treated harshly, but he's no good enough.
