Started a while ago. There's comedy, there's good comedy and then there is LOB. By far the best comedy film of all time and I honestly cant see it being beaten.:celt_2:

I had one of the faces of death dvds. I thought it was quite interesting. A lot of it is staged and reenactments.

Watched Cannibal Holocaust a couple of times to try and 'get it' but it's just pretty * up in all honesty.

The sacrifice scenes and the animal slaughter.....disturbing.

Well with a title like "Cannibal Holocaust," what were you expecting?

The list is too much focused on American/European movies.

Still an interesting list since I have only seen about 14 flicks. Will check out the rest later.

Yeah, no mention of A Serbian Film (or whatever it is called). Even reading some reviews made me sick. :38:

I thought some of the sickest movies come from Asia. A Serbian Film is disturbing as well.

Have seen that one a couple of years ago when it was on Dutch TV. (We dont care too much about showing controversial * on tv down here :icon_mrgreen:.) Very, very strange movie. Wouldnt want to advise this one to anybody especially if your easily offended.

Another one I've seen is Battle of Algiers (1966). It was banned in France for 5 years. Very good film, all in French/Arabic though for those who don't like subtitles.

A lot of them I've not seen, as shock/horror stuff doesn't really interest me - although there are always exceptions...

Films like Cannibal Holocaust that include actual abuse of animals, I wouldn't watch at all, on principle.

    Ones I have seen -

    A Clockwork Orange (1971)
Very well made film: great cinematogaphy, set design, and use of music.
    Excellent performance by Malcolm McDowell.
I did find it quite disturbing though, quite ugly. Unsettled me for a couple of weeks afterwards.

    The Life of Brian (1979)
Very funny. Maybe not my favourite Python stuff, but possibly the deepest.
Re the banning, seems a bit ridiculous to me. I'm quite religious, and I found it very illuminating. There's a lot of really sharp psychological insight in it - I'd recommend it to anyone interested in spiritual matters.

    Straw Dogs (1971)
Only seen parts of this, flipping back and forwards, but it didn't engage me enough to watch it properly.
I do think Hoffman is an excellent actor though.

    The Devils (1971)
Wonderful film. Another one that was banned partly because of the religiously-scandalous nature of the content, but one I found very insightful & true - and actually quite spiritual.
The final shot, walking away down the road of bones, just blew me away.

I actually have Testament of Dr Mabuse sitting on my table right now - looking forward to it. :50:

    I'm not picky.
Canibal Holocaust is a pretty disturbing movie especially the real killings of the animals in it.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre was VERY over-rated in my opinion and it's one of the few movies that I have watched that had bored me to tears.

This can be true as you will see from this film
