I dont know if you can post things like this but as i have watched celtic this season my starting XI would be.

    Forster
    Mattews Mulgrew Rogne Izzy
    Ledley Kayal Wanyama
    Samaras
    Hooper Stokes

Drop Forrest - He seems to want goals all the time now, he was good at first but since he has a taste for goal he is not doing the job as a winger and keeps cutting inside.

Brown - I just dont think he is a first team player anymore, he has no passing ability and just doesnt seem to cut it as a captain.

    Opinions?

so was McGeady, so is Ronaldo. If your a winger that has the ability to cut inside and shoot, being greedy isnt all that bad a trait

The reason Forrest was cutting inside so much last night is that he is a right winger, who was being played on the left to accommodate Scott Clown on the right.

If, as you suggest, we Can Captain Clown, then Forrest can be played in his correct position on the right, which in turn allows Sammy to be played in his best position on the left (rather than up front). Which in turn allows Stokesey to partner Hooper up front.

    Stokes Hooper
    Samaras Ledley Kayal Forrest
    Emilio Mulgrew Rogne Matthews
    Forster

I'd drop Wanyama. I think he's an excellent prospect, but at his present stage of development he is not as good a centre mid as either Kayal or Ledley. And he certainly has nothing like the range of passing of Ki, nowhere near.

I think Vic will be a good replacement for Kayal when he moves on, but just now he is not a regular 1st team starter for me. However he is more than capable of filling in at CM or CB - I would have no worries about fielding him, he is just not (yet) as good as our other options.

Not a bad team at all and whilst I'm a big fan of Rogne's I think Wanyama deserves his place.

That would be the only change for me.

As for Broony, whilst I have been a supporter of his for long enough, he's done nothing of note this season and has been awful since returning from injury, so would defo leave him out!

    Hail Hail

If everybody's fit this is my team everyday of the week

    Forster (23)
    Matthews (19 unbelievably) Rogne (21) Wanyama (20) Izzy (25)
    Forrest (20) Kayal (23) Ledley (24 (C)) Commons (28)
    Stokes (23) Hooper (23)

Cannot believe the age of that squad....unreal :icon_mrgreen: !!! Average age of 22 and wee would absolutely boss the SPL with that team and would be decent in the Europa league as we were.

Not being funny but exactly how much did you drink last night? :icon_mrgreen:

Seriously though Forrest has been our top player this season and has rightly earns his place in the list of top 100 young players in the world/Europe for 2012!

What's fantastic is that I can't pick an eleven without leaving out about a half dozen players who I think should be playing. Good problems to have, folks.

Have to disagree. Both Ledley and Ki are passing players - their range of passing is streets ahead of Wanyama. Ideally in a central partnership, the qualities of the players complement one another. So if we are going to start with Kayal (which I think we should) then his ideal partner would be a player who can complement his battling qualities with passing qualities.

Kayal + Wanyama centrally could be made to work, for the reason that the exceptional Beram also has some passing quality - our Iniesta if you like. But in an ideal world our Iniesta is partnered by our Xavi, which is more Ki or Ledley than Wanyama.

Im quite different i think ki is very lazy although his passing ability is sublime.

I have been thinking about this since the game last night. We have such a fantastic squad atm and Lenny has to find it hard every week picking the team. A fully fit and on form Kris Commons would be in my team but who exactly do we drop for him? I think it would have to be Wanyama. The Hand is right, Wanyama is still a player for the future and an ideal replacement for Kayal who will move on at some stage in the future. Anyhow, this would be my team:

    -----------------Forster---------------
    Matthews----Rogne---Mulgrew-----Izzy
    Forrest------Kayal----Ledley---Commons
    ------------Stokes----Hooper----------

Subs: Zaluska, Maj, Wanyama, Ki, Brown, McCourt, Samaras

I have probably forgot someone from that sub bench lol. As good as Sammy can be and is playing, I would still have Stokesy as he is a better goalscorer and links up far better with Hooper. Our play isnt as good with Sammy on instead of Stokes. What a * squad when it should be a struggle picking the bench for each game

Would love to put Matthews in there instead of Brown but tried to be at least a tad realistic! Lenny won't be dropping him! Wonder how he'd do as a wing-back actually lol he is actually quite fast, aggressive similar to Agathe as he wasn't the tallest for that position either!

I love Ledley, but also wouldn't have a problem seeing Commons or Sammy slot in there. If I was to compare it with the TalkCeltic Team of the decade, Wanyama would do Bobo's job, Rogne (Mjallby), Mulgrew (Valgaeren), Izzy (Thompson), Brown (Agathe), Kayal (Lenny), Forrest (Lubo), Ledley (Petrov), then take your pick with Stokesy and Hooper :50: You know it makes sense haha
