    No.

Under his reign, we have been in a very healthy position while almost every club in Europe, yes almost every club, is in massive debt.

We have signed an amazing amount of young undiscovered talent. An incredible amount. A real testament to the whole operation at Celtic park.

Sure, the last three years have been unsuccessful. Lawell took over in 2002, just after the SPL began in 1999. We have bee very successful under him. In the 10 leagues we have played under him we have won 5. We reached a european final. We reached the last 16 of the champions league twice. We've had MON, Strachan. Larsson and Co.

He has been good for our club. He has brought great success, amazing Parkhead Euro nights, and done it while maintaining a strong position financially.

How many titles do Rangers need to win before we get shot of him?

Not sure what more PL could've done over past 4 years other than put us into extreme debt.

If that's the price people are willing to pay for a shot (yes, a shot) at success, then fair play to them.

Personally PL has done a 9/10 job. His only real mistake was not pushing the boat out for Steven Fletcher 3-4 years ago. Apart from that he's signed an incredible amount of quality for buttons.

oor fans seem tae be split on everything nowadays!
I reckon PL has kept a tight ship financially...maybe too tight at times!
He's had his good & bad moments in the public eye, some i've agreed with some i haven't.
We can't all be singy happy clappy Bhoy's & Ghirls all the time it's impossible to be in 100% agreement at any given time with any given topic...There will always be diference in opinion...As i've said,i'm happy with some things PL doing but the jury's oot on others!

Going off topic i'd just like to add-

I'm dismayed by recent events blighting our club...We are giving the Scum Media the ammunition tae shoot us doon'...we need tae get a grip & get round the table to resolve this.
I'm pleading with you all,Let's unite FFS,get the biggest Huddle going and get back to supporting our FOOTBALL CLUB. :huddle:

At present no but and I'm serious here if the investment needed in January to strengthen key positions isn't forthcoming and we end up losing the league beacuse of it, I think it's time for him to move on.

The hard part though would be in finding a replacement with his financial know how. I don't like him as a man but professionally you can't take away he has kept the club financially very secure.

Long term what with the new European Fair Play rules about to kick in that should give us a huge advantage over other clubs. But short term we do need to be winning trophies and primarily the league. With that will come richer rewards from Europe and also attract more sponsorship and investment. With the knock on effect of being able to attract better players.

Nope I wouldn't. The man has kept our club near enough out of debt in a dead league.

    Seriously, what's the point?

Does anyone seriously think Mr Desmond is going to employ some Pro-IRA CEO/Board member to appease the Pro-Rebs fans any time soon?

Peters successor will have to have the same stance.

The guy has done some great things for the club and definitely has the clubs best interest at heart.

For all we know he could be all for the rebs but someone higher up/In the know is having a wee word in his ear. Just look at Lennon's comments, I think we all know he isn't against rebs like he comes across. Unlikely but who really knows?

I'm sick to death of all this bullshit tbh, it's beyond tedious. Hopefully a nice wee victory on the 28th will push this out the road for a couple of weeks.

You need to speculate to accumulate. 4/5m for that extra bit of quality and we would have probably made the champions leaugue and still made a profit.

    Definitely not.

He is a great business man. Which is exactly what we need in the current financial climate.

yes but for all the odd 2 or 3 mill you spend on players of not so high quality could go towards that 5 million pound quality player

I think we are all acutely aware of that fact.

Do the players and managers not take any of the blame for that?

Of course they do, however ask yourself what the one constant has been in that period

    Strachan - Lawwell
    Mowbray - Lawwell
    Lennon - Lawwell

Managers find it difficult to work with one hand tied behind their back. And if you pay peanuts for players then you generally get what you pay for.

The huns are skint and still found 4m for Jelavic, and he practically dragged them over the line on his own last year.
