What would you be talking Rent wise for say an average apartment in Vancouver or Toronto?? Did you get a job straight away or did you have one organised before you went over?

My advice to you mate would be to go fot it.the places you mention would be something new to you and if you dont like you come home and you have tried it.

nothing wrong with trying and you will gain vast experience.

i have done it,loved it ,but one thing is for sure, the "grass is always greener" quote to true to its words for me

what ever happens good luck :50:

Canada mate, what a place to live, ive been there on holiday maybe a dozen times and the place gets better and better. People are very friendly, weather in the summer is very nice and the winters are pretty * cold but i suppose thats what a winter should be like.

My experience when living in other countries when we moved for my dads work is that working abroad is a good experience, and generally my best times have come from living away from the Uk. Its a different experience.

Ive been to Toronto and Blue Mountain resort in Collingwood, Ontario. My favourite out of those two was probably collingwood because i like less dense areas. More of a community feel to the place rather than a huge city like Toronto. In saying that toronto was a great place as well, loads of places to eat/socialise and great tourist venues, like the CNN tower.

Had dinner once in the restaurant that slowly moves as well, the 360 restaurant in the CNN tower i think. I think America is a great place to live as well, i think i like Canada and America so much is because it reminds you of the Uk, but its different as well. It makes settling in easier.

id go with toronto TBH, you can live well outside toronto and commute in, cutting back much more than living just outside of van

van is smushed between the mountains and the ocean, beautiful place but you have to be making a lot of money to be able to live there comfortably (then again everyones definition of comfort is different)

that is if you go to a job in canada, we're friendly folk eh, youll fit in

also heres a good site for you to just research the job market here

    http://www.workingincanada.gc.ca/LMI_report_bynoc.do?&noc=2133&reportOption=wage

just sorted it by wage, can go into any of the regions and research how it is there

NOC 2133-A is the number if your wanting to search for it on the national job bank etc etc

sorry about my earlier posts if they didnt make any sense, rolled out of bed, turned on my computer without thinking and went on here

Rent in Toronto will vary depending on which part of the city you're in. It's easy to live outside the city and commute for work. That way you're saving $$ on rent. Downtown Toronto apartments are pretty small and can cost a couple of grand a month for rent. But you'd be able to find one for between $500 and $1500 a month. I'm not sure about the rental market in Vancouver but I do know the housing market is pretty ridiculous for what you get. I got a job when I was over here, took me less than a week. As long as you have the paperwork then it's not hard. The pay is substantially higher than the UK, but this is offset by some things being more expensive eg cars, insurance, alcohol, utilities for example. There will be pros and cons for both places so I would do some serious research before making a decision.

As for the winters in the east of Canada. I much prefer cold and dry with a good chance of snow than not quite as cold and wet. I've had enough of those UK type winters.

Out of the 3, for me it would be Oz. Everyone that I know who has moved there has loved it. The weather is excellent and lifestyle sounds great, I'm sure there are other perks too

If I had the choice to work anywhere though it would definitely be America. Absolutely love that place, been there 3 times, Florida each time, would love to go to a different state if I go again though
