Tigers have overhauled the ChiSox in the AL C.

CWS in a series with the Rays though, which will be crucial for both teams... if CSW win they could go ahead of the Tigers again, but if the Rays win the series they could well be right back in the WC reckoning, going into the last week.

As for Boston, well, the misery at Fenway is over for another year. Red Sox finish the regular season with a home record of 34-47. Even the worst team in all of MLB, the Astros, have a better home record this season. Red Sox have the second worst home record of any team this season, barely above the Twins, who still have a home series to go. Not good.

100 years of Fenway - should have been a great year for the Red Sox Nation to remember, but this year's team has just sucked.

So if he clearly runs to make base, and when seeing he is out, he can then deviate to prevent the baseman throwing?

Haven't watched Baseball for years. Have a soft spot for the Twins though. For the sole reason that I owned a cap of theirs I got while in America as a young gun :icon_mrgreen:

Im a bit more fickle than that.....i have enjoyed watching it for the last 3 or 4 years, but mainly because i bet on it!!
I did want the Giants to win 2 years ago because i backed them at 9/1 in the "quarters"......so i have a loose support for them!Same with Texas, mainly for the same reason.(they also were 9/1 and i backed them....and the 2 contested the World Seriesl!!!)

The 1991 World Series between Kirby Puckett's inspired Twins & the Braves is still one of my all time favourite Fall Classics, especially as a neutral.

Quite incredible that with just a couple of days to go in the regular season & all 3 divisions & the wildcard spots in the AL are still up for grabs. The NL is pretty much all settled, with just a couple of questions to be answered.

The Red Sox last night were abysmal & it's not undue to say it was like watching the Wankees take on a minor league side. Hopefully the Sox can take tonight's game and that the O's can go back level.

The Nats definitely deserve to clinch, as they have had the best record in baseball virtually all year & can cap it off.

Well done A's, fantastic from July onwards, loved seeing Rangers crumble and not just cause of their name.

I do hope the Orioles at the very least get past them in the wildcard game, if there won't be an unexpected turnaround today in the final games.

Btw. probably been dicussed before, but what do you guys think of this new, slightly tweaked playoff system? I'm not sure if I like it too much, idea is good, but surely there should be more than one game between the wildcard teams.

A's take the AL W division. Now if Boston can knock the Wankees and the O's win at TB, we could be looking at a Stinkees v R*ngers WC-elimination game on Friday, I think it is... Get rid of one of these bunch of *, quick smart. :icon_mrgreen:

Come on, Boston. One last game. The season has been dire, but just 1 last win to see the season out and spoil the Stinkees party. Then the Red Sox can put the last nails in the 2012 coffin.

Oh Horror: 14-2 to the Yankees. Hopefully Baltimore/Texas will take them out in the Division Series. One sport I would be supporting the Rangers.

Well done to Oakland what an impressive performance from them coming from 13 games back in July to catching the Texas huns and then even yesterday coming from 5-1 down to win 12-5 and thus win the AL West. Amazing stuff really.

So the wild card game in the AL is now Texas V Baltimore with the winner then playing the New York Yankees. While Oakland now plays against Detroit.

What a farcical end to a farcical season for the Red Sox. Hopefully Dice-K has thrown his last pitch in a Red Sox uniform. Useless.

Just saw the start times for the first two games of the Reds v Giants series.

21:30 and 22:30 Eastern on Saturday and Sunday. Gonna be long nights and Sunday looks like a killer day.

Down to the CSC in the morning, off to watch the Bengals at 1:00 then a 22:30 Reds v. Giants game. Gotta get a nap in there somewhere, doubt I will though. Planning on calling off Monday.
