We're simply bearing the fruit of investment in facilities and infrastructure.

We've always had the best talent but the problem was it was never nurtured properly. The link with St Ninians has been the next step, these guys are now training every morning through the most crucial part of their development before they go to school and then train afterwards.

They are regimented and have very little time to have their heads swayed by X Boxes and White Lightning.

Why did we get rid of him before?

am I right in thinking it was a player swap with Rangers?

Who came to Celtic in exchange?

    or I could be wrong?:56:

yes our youth team has made an incredible improvement in recent years. Several years ago we remodelled it to be more like that of barcelona and the dutch clubs with our players getting more time training with the ball we also set up the initiative with St. Ninians. We are just now beginning to see the benefits

I think the Next Gen Series is fantastic for our youth development and hope we progress. McGeouch really impressed me tonight, I think his creative talents would be better used further up the field but he put in a fair shift. His passing, movement, control, skill and shooting under pressure was phenomenal for such a young guy whilst he had no qualms about the defensive side of the game, flying into tackles all over the pitch. Liked what I saw of Fraser, Watt, Chalmers and in the second half George but I went home raving about McGeouch.

As I've always said on this forum it's time we utilised our youth system better and it seems we are starting to do just that.

"JOHN KENNEDY has urged Celtic's kids to follow dazzling Darren McGeouch into Neil Lennon's first-team."

Opening paragraph in an article from The Sun. Try harder eh boys?

We started investing in our youth system at the start of the Strachan era, we realized we couldn't compete financially with the EPL teams so we decided to remodel our academy, it really looks like it is paying off now.

I can see mgceough, George, frazier, and Keatings in particular being regulars in the next few years.....

Was very impressed by a number of the players last night, the two boys on the right side Miller and Herron, Irvine in the middle, Fraser at centre half and the more well know trio of George,Watt and McGeough.

Don`t want to sound like a pessimist but its early days and their were little aspect which need improvement. The good thing is that they have potential.

The best players are Fraser, Chalmers, McGregor, McGeouch and George. I have seen a lot of people mention Watt as if hes the best or one of but he's not, decent player good under 19 but in terms of the step up it'll likely not be at Celtic imo.
