Ask anybody that has spent their life in football, has watched generation after generation of players come and go and they will all say the same thing - that young players simply do not have the same level of consistency, and that it is something that can only come with experience.

C'mon butch ffs you must be the only 'tic supporter who has never seen the full quality that Kayal has got. The guy was a star last season for us, admittedly this season he has not been firing on all cylinders, for whatever reason I don't know. Only weeks ago he was our club captain, a very big accolade for a young of what 22/23. I think it's still there for us, his talent, although if its true what has been suggested by many on here, that he isn't trying for Lenny, then this I'd say, is an unforgivable thing to do in a Celtic jersey.

just have a look at his passing mate pick any game you want, but let me put you in the picture try the 2 hibs games, and for a guy that is getting a pay rise you have a look and tell us all. what you would pay him for his hour and a half"s work. so you will not be intrigued, as i dont and wont leave you with that impression, it will be of why the *, i you, never seen that * up.

i am not in favour of a ankle snapper never have and never will mate ankle snappers are players you get ten a penny they play that way as they are always on the back foot, my type of player is the type the ankle snapper is at that means to me he is moving forward and doing some work on the drive as i say ankle snappers are only chasing the game not getting any thing from it as the ball and there type of play only wastes time and the ball ends up for a shy most of the match nothing in that to help your forwards but it all adds up to yellow card collecting , nothing more

kayal is not half the player he was last season, he worked 110% and closed down players all over the park. Hooper does not like the physical side of the Scotland gam and goes quiet when he has a hard physical challenge Only Mulgrew and forest play for the jersey, too many poor quality players that are more suited to an exibition match than a physical battle, for example Mccourt, Samaras, Bugera, Hooper.

i don't think Hooper is good enough in my opinion. I said it last season and I stick by it.

Did his two goals against the huns at our place last season mean anything to you? Because I bet you weren't saying that then:rolleyes:

I'm a Celtic fan of course it meant something to me. Marc Antoine Fortune, Thomas Gravesen, Lee Naylor and Giorgios Samaras have all scored against Rangers in the past few years... does it mean I have to rate them ? I was sceptical about bringing in Championship players before we did so (with the exception of Joe Ledley because he is a proven international). Hooper hasn't shown me that I'm wrong. I'd prefer Scott McDonald.

Fortune and Samaras, who are strikers, were never as prolific as Hooper was for us last season. I wasn't saying that Hooper was a fantastic player based on him scoring against Rangers but look at his goalscoring record from last season. I think his head is turned tbh, and Lennon has to get him playing for the club again, because on his day he is the probably best striker in the league. People have also questioned his fitness which is a fair assumption given his recent form.

I think tonight has put these rumours to rest, Kayal was superb in midfield and battle hard and Hooper took his goal very well, he is so clinical

Kayal worked incredibly hard for the team tonight. Did a lot of running, a lot of closing down and pressing. One of the things we did so well last year was closing opponents down high up the pitch, and it's something we need to start doing again.

Kayal led by example tonight and his enthusiasm was infectious.

I think that's crap. Hooper was a proven scorer in the Championship which is arguably better than the SPL, it's at least as good. He was also playing with Scunthorpe at the time who were relegated; so to be a 20 goals a season scorer at that level in a team that struggled from the word go should be more than capable of doing it for us. I also think he proved his worth last year and i'm sure he'll be doing it again this year.

Well whatever was missing in the past few games is suddenly back. Both players attitude was in question before tonight and they laid that one to bed.

Now they have to give us that kind of consistency we have been lacking all season.

    Both were brilliant tonight.
