Although mcgeady was technically a great player I found him gready on the ball, would try and beat his man too many times instead of playing a ball in. Forest for me has a better attitude and if he keeps this form up he will grow into a cracking player. Great game last night.

Tough to say since McGeady was in the first team for years and Forrest has only became a regular recentely.

Was never a massive fan of McGeady tbh. His skill was sublime and if he played no one stood a chance but he never played to his full ability anywhere near enough of the time. His final ball and finishing was very iffy and he was quite petulant at times.

Forrest looks like he can be the better player but he's got a few years to go before I would compare the 2.

Don't agree with that. McGeady's defensive play and backtracking was brilliant for a flair player(Attitude and determination) and he always showed how much he loved Celtic when it came to the Old Firms.

McGeady is far superior defensively. Forrest gives up very easily when he gets dispossesed. Something that Lennon better be getting into him.

McGeady was the same until WGS got a hold of him.

mcgeady for sure,i rate forrest very highly but mcgeady done it in the big european games which just nudges it for me,but forrest has the potential no doubt he has been a revelation ,he has carried the team in a few games, just dont want to put too much pressure on the lad

but who ever said mcgeady had no end product,he played 247 games for celtic scored 37 and assisted in 83............ still think he has no end product? i think forrest will overtake his scoring record he is on fire

    Ahh I dunno.

Forrest looks like he has more goals to his game, but I loved watching McGeady play for Celtic. It was great knowing you could give him the ball and he had the beating of more or less any defender.

McGeady is the better player atm, but Forrest does have great potential.

Way to early for this thread. Forrest has the potential to be as good as or better than mcgeady, but mcgeady is still the better player at the moment.

I lvoe Forrest, great wee player. No nonsense winger, jsut gets down there and supplies a cross or tries to shoot.
But until he does this in Europe there is no comparrison. McGeady was all tricks and flicks and done it against some of the best in the world. And I felt bad for McGeady in his last season or 2 because he got so much * for being all about him. But let's face it, he was carrying Celtic for a long time, especially under TM where there was no spark at all. I wish he was still here but he's doing well for himself now and wish him all the best. Was a great player for Celtic.

Forrest is just starting out here and he has the potential to be a great player (hopefully a Celtic great), and I think he will be.

This thread is years too early, McGeady at the moment.

We may be able to compare them in the future if Forrest fulfills his potential.

Aiden had over 70 assists for us in around 200 games. That is end product.

That's debatable, even though i know Celtic made money on him. Need to see a lot more of Forrest though.

He moved for £10 million, there are clubs after him. It then stands to reason he will not be sold unless they offer more than that.

The figures banded about in the media well in excess of £20 million.

Think I am with the consensus here....at this exact moment in time McGeady has shown more, matured more, more or less approaching his peak, therefore he comes out on top....have a sneeky suspicion that Forrest will be just as good, maybe better...here's hoping he is...and we keep hold of him.

When I say Forrest. I mean the choice between Forrest at 20 and McGeady at 20.

McGeady racked up tons of assists so him. He was the focal point of the team.

James Forrest is good. Quite good. But has not yet caught Aiden. Forrest also has not shown it against top European opposition yet, Aiden did.

He was actually two years older. McGeady was 22 when he was playing in the champions league. At the age of 20 he was struggling to get in the team. I think Forrest is better than McGeady was at his age.
