Nope I'm not saying that. By over cautious I mean exactly that. they are not implementing a long term business plan like Fergus McCann did with his 5 year plan. The present board live season to season. You cant play stop-start economics with a football team depending on afew results going the wrong way in Europe. We should be investing in the club by borrowing moderately in a low-interest enviroment which we are now in.

So how much do you want to borrow ? And how the * are we gonnae repay it ?

This is crazy , there is no way we should borrow more money .
What we need is a clearout of all the players who are past it or can't cut it at CP,
then use the money saved to reinvest in the team.

You don't have to spend big to succeed , you have to spend wisley to survive .

I am pretty sure you have it wrong here Freedom. We need to borrow enough to get us over that seemingly unbreachable hurdle of CL 2nd stages.
In todays market I reckon abot a minimum of 40m.
How does any business repay a loan. They usually ahve a flexible low interest overdraft that can be capital part or fully redeemed at any time.

This would cost Celtic about 50k per match. Now considering season ticket revenue is about 55 thousand books x average say of 400 = £22m.

The interest is a drop in the ocean compared to what we could do with the capital and the coming clearout of dead wood.

That works about about 30m costing about 9% of season ticket revenue. Now this does not include all the other revenue streams like merchandising, cup games, european games, etcetera.

But it would probably guarantee us £10m minimum in Champions league revenue and possibly double that if we include maybe 3 top class players from the overdraft. This would include enough funds for purchase and wages over a three year period.

I almost fainted when I heard Quinn come out with the statement, that Celtic had less than expected revenue due to an earlier than expected exit from European competition.

WHAT THE * DOES THIS GUY EXPECT AND * ONLY KNOWS WHAT MARIN O'NEIL THOUGHT OF THAT STATEMENT.

    WE NEED CAPITAL INVESTMENT NOW.

We have 53 k season books just now and we still run at a loss.
A £40 mill loan would put us in £57.5 mill in debt and destroy the club .
I don't know about you but i'd rather cut my * off than see celtic in that state AGAIN !!!

The only way to get money is : 1. a major investor . 2. another share issue . 3. move to a better league with higher tv revenue

No offence , but are you * mental ?

No I think you are mate. Almost evry large multi million pound business I kave studied runs with ongoing overdrafts as part of their business plan. Manageable debt make good business sense. In the city they call it 'gearing up'. You make money with money borrowed at low interest rates against a good business plan.

It really is that simple mate. I think you are confusing 2 different things here.

    1) A club throwing good money after bad consistently (Huns)
    2) Any club with a good Boardroom who factor in gearing to acommodate expansion.

I think you have blinkers on here mate or are struck into inertia by the Leeds-Huns fear syndrome.

The board know what they are doing , they didn't get where they are today by being fucknuts .

They will have a business plan ,or do they just make it up as they go along ?

I reckon MON has spent at least 30 mill since he came and we ain't done * in the C/L
and we aint seen any profit

I can see both sides to the argument, but freedom your not presenting any facts, your using emotion and in a way fear of what might happen, whereas HH is using facts and a plan to get his point across so, HH is declared the winner of this debate :smoke:

btw 'Well almost cameback to steal a point but ended up losing 3-2.

bollocks is right, there can be no winners in such debates just a difference of opinion and rightly so how boring would the forum be if we all thought the same :eek1:
