I think if he was played behind the front two, he would set up a lot of chances and get a few goals himself too.

Paddy would have been one of the best players in the world in the seventies...

Funny how he is so different with the ball at his feet - without it he has always looked lost.

you can say Paddy has this or that, the end result is this, he has offered more to the celtic team, than any other player, now try and prove me wrong in the amount of games he has played for Celtic, how many loosing sides has he been in, the second question is how may games has he been brought on, and changed the score to a win. the third question is this, are you all wanting a super sub, to save the day
and quite happy for paddy to be that man, where as you will accept mediocre play for 80 min catch your self on lads before i take an interest in what you post on here

He has been described as a throwback to the 70s:icon_mrgreen:. Regardless of his weaknesses, when's he's on top form, he's simply a pleasure to watch, makes football the "beautiful game" that it should be.

im a big fan of paddy really am and was thrilled with his cameo sunday, but what is the problem with him? ive heard its a stamina thing but if that were the case surely extra fitness training could sort this, this is modern day football like, and if paddy was this good would we not have a few offers for the wee man??

Not sure why he doesn't start more often but i don't think fitness is the reason although other people will try and contradict this.

How do you know? he has never really had the chance except for a brief run in the team december and january last year, played 7 games and was subbed 3 times. surely if he hasnt the stamina he would have been subbed 7 times.

The fact is that it's hard to build up stamina to consistently last 90 minutes if you never get the chance to play the full 90 minutes on a regular basis.

Who knows, maybe he wouldn't be as effective as he is if he played every 90 minutes, maybe he would be a world beater but to say he can't do this or can't do that when he isn't given the chance to prove himself is unfair.

I don't think it's fitness to be honest.

How can someone who trains professionally so many times a week be so unfit?

Might be an attitude problem. Too complacent maybe.

Paddy was given the coveted number 10 role against Rennes from the start...

65 mins in had done nothing, defended pretty poorly/sluggishly and was removed in place of Commons.

It was a games chance to prove himself from the start but the pace of the game was ahead of him...

Paddy plays in slow motion. a 15 minute impact player, he will never be anymore.

Paddy is far more useful than Commons at the moment, in my opinion.

Again I'll say I liked him against Rennes, took the ball in well and kept possesion and went on a couple of runs when he could afford to resulting in a few free kicks are way and a shooting oppurtunity that was blocked wonderfully from M'Vila.

People expect miracles out of Paddy every minute he was on the pitch, on Thursday he proved to me he could do something I thought may have been beyond him. A neat and tidy game were he worked hard for the team.

Agree with this. Miracles don't happen every game.
